In 2011, Federal Signal implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Accounts Payable as part of its enterprise financial systems. The deployment is classified under AP Automation and was integrated into the companys JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP footprint to centralize payable operations. The Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Accounts Payable implementation focused on core AP functional capabilities including invoice and voucher processing, supplier master management, invoice matching workflows, payment processing and approval routing. Configuration work aligned these AP workflows with standard JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ledger and cost accounting structures to ensure consistent posting and controls across finance processes. Integrations were implemented between Accounts Payable and adjacent JD Edwards modules, including Finance, Purchasing, Inventory and Manufacturing, and with multiple third party business systems that interface directly with JDE EnterpriseOne. These integrations supported procurement to pay continuity, automated invoice flows from purchasing, and record reconciliation between inventory and cost accounting functions. Governance and ongoing operational support were assigned to an internal Business Applications team responsible for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, supplemented by third party technical support for database, CNC and JDE platform services. Controls and compliance activities were structured to align with SOX and segregation of duties requirements, with the Business Applications team owning configuration, change control, upgrade coordination and support for acquisitions and system enhancements.
