Operational capabilities implemented included processing and auditing payments for participating and non-participating providers, analyzing and processing claims to meet production and quality targets, and maintaining tracking of outstanding claims. The solution handled multiple payment methods and pricing engines used by claims staff, including DRG, APC, ASC, Home Health, Physical Rehabilitation, ESRD Pricer, and Medicare Fee Schedule calculations. Operational coverage focused on the claims department and related business functions such as payment posting, audit, and benefits adjudication, with Senior Claims Specialists responsible for processing, auditing, and referring implementation findings into operational workflows. Claims processing work used established benefits, laws, regulations, CMS fee schedules, supplier contracts, reference books, and internal policies to guide adjudication and quality requirements. Confidentiality controls and procedural adherence were enforced by claims teams during day to day operations. Governance and workflow changes emphasized formalized audit and referral loops, where Senior Claims Specialists fed findings from the Cedar Gate EZ-CAP implementation back into process adjustments and policy enforcement.
