| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2024 | 2024 |
In 2024, Flowers Foods implemented SAP S/4 HANA as the core ERP Financial migration from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to modernize its supply chain and transactional processing across a national bakery network. The implementation targeted an expansive SAP landscape that includes Dev, QA, N+1 and production environments, enabling structured preproduction testing and sustainment activities to protect inventory flow and retailer deliveries.
The project embedded Tricentis Tosca, Tricentis LiveCompare and Tricentis Data Integrity to create a unified approach to quality engineering and automated validation for SAP S/4 HANA. Functional capabilities implemented included model based automated test design, automated data reconciliation, data integrity verification across transaction types, and configuration and master data comparison. The automation test designer produced complex end to end test cases in hours, an improvement over manual total cycle time by over 60 percent.
Integrations and operational coverage extended beyond core SAP to include hosted SaaS and PaaS systems such as Concur and Ariba for regression and post Windows patch testing. LiveCompare was used for environment to environment comparisons, Change Impact Analysis to identify SAP objects affected by ChaRM changes or custom code changes, and Continuous Configuration Impact Analysis to surface configuration related risks. Data Integrity mapped dozens of business units during the ECC to S/4 HANA migration to preserve naming conventions and keep transactional processing consistent.
Governance and workflow changes shifted QA from ad hoc scripting to a scaled, repeatable testing framework that ties LiveCompare impact signals to Tosca test execution. The team built LiveCompare reports to inform stakeholders of configuration and master data changes, and integrated impact analysis with test case selection to close coverage gaps. Sustainment practices include daily data reconciliation alongside automated regression to maintain ongoing data quality post go live.
Explicit outcomes from the implementation include 100 percent coverage of production data during preproduction test cycles, a 300 percent reduction in time spent validating data during migration as test coverage expanded to the full data set, a 50 percent increase in automated test coverage of critical business data, a 35 percent reduction in test cycle duration, a fivefold increase in regression testing speed, and 50 percent automation of the regression test suite spanning cloud and on premise systems. Automated data integrity testing ensured data errors were identified and remediated before release, improving confidence in S/4 HANA cutover activities.

| SAP | Benefitfocus Benefitplace | SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Global Benefits | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Flowers Foods implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Global Benefits as its centralized Benefits Administration solution, migrating benefits processing from Benefitfocus Benefitplace. The implementation was positioned to consolidate employee master and benefits data within SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Global Benefits, aligning HR benefits administration with payroll and workforce management flows.
The deployment focused on Employee Central Global Benefits configuration, extensions and custom interfaces to support benefit deductions and employee master records. Workstreams included configuration of BizX and Payroll interoperability, mapping of time types for payroll processing, and end to end interface development and unit testing for the benefits and payroll data flows.
Integration architecture leveraged Dell Boomi as the SFSF integration platform, with explicit interfaces described between SuccessFactors, BenefitFocus, Kronos, and SAP ERP. Documented flows included SuccessFactors to BenefitFocus for employee master, SuccessFactors to Kronos for employee master, Kronos to SuccessFactors EC Payroll for time types and employee records, BenefitFocus to SuccessFactors EC Payroll for employee benefit deductions, and an iFlow pattern for ERP to EC cost center replication.
Governance and operationalization were implemented through structured development and handover practices, with offshore technical lead developer responsibilities covering customization of interfaces, support during integration testing, creation of documentation, and transfer to the BOOMI managed operations team. The program included review of design, code and test results, ticket resolution for developed jobs and data validation, and an onsite requirements and analysis week at Flowers Foods to align HR and payroll stakeholders.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA - Plant Maintenance (PM) | Plant Maintenance | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2022 | 2023 |
In 2022, Flowers Foods implemented SAP S/4 HANA - Plant Maintenance (PM) to centralize plant maintenance processes across Flowers Foods and its subsidiaries. The effort targeted Plant Maintenance functions that support production facilities and warehouse sites within the United States.
Configuration work focused on SAP S/4 HANA - Plant Maintenance (PM) capabilities typical for the category, including work order management, equipment and asset master records, preventive maintenance scheduling, and maintenance notifications aligned to production line and packaging equipment workflows. Configuration also incorporated spare parts inventory visibility and procurement touch points to support maintenance execution and planners workflows.
The deployment included SAP Fiori user experience and connectivity to manufacturing execution systems, with documented MES interfacing points and Fiori role based apps for technicians and planners. Operational coverage called out in project notes included receiving, production, and plant maintenance activities across warehouse and production operations for Flowers Foods and subsidiaries.
Governance and rollout included on site training and quick reference guides created by an SAP S/4 HANA trainer from April 2023 to August 2023, delivering training on S/4 HANA, Fiori and MES workflows. Training and support emphasized warehouse employees involved in receiving, production and plant maintenance and established procedural guides and frontline support resources for maintenance execution.
