| Coupa Software | Legacy | Coupa Invoice | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2022 | 2022 |
In 2022, Foundation Medicine implemented Coupa Invoice as its AP Automation solution. The deployment established Coupa Invoice as the central accounts payable intake and processing layer for the finance organization, aligning with the company IT platform ownership model and service delivery responsibilities described for the IT Platform Owner II role.
The implementation configured Coupa Invoice for standard AP Automation capabilities, including electronic invoice capture and parsing, invoice to purchase order matching, approval routing and workflow automation, vendor master onboarding and validation, and AP reporting and exception handling. Configuration work emphasized reusable approval workflows and role based access controls, and documentation of environment and operation procedures was maintained in the CMDB to support regulated operational requirements.
Integration work connected Coupa Invoice to the broader ERP and reporting landscape in support of financial close and payable posting. The environment design relied on established ERP add on patterns used at the company, with Dynamics ERP identified as the enterprise accounting system and integration tooling such as Scribe and E connect SmartConnect referenced for data movement and reconciliation. These integrations focused on invoice posting, PO and vendor master synchronization, and status updates between Coupa Invoice and general ledger modules.
Operational governance was implemented to support ongoing service delivery, including vendor release management, platform upgrade coordination, change control documentation for regulated and non regulated platforms, license and user access audits, and scheduled communications and training aligned to release cadence. The IT Platform Owner II provided day to day production support and acted as the escalation point for platform related defects and incidents, working with infrastructure for maintenance windows and with the vendor to track product roadmap and service packs.
Project delivery followed Agile practices to deliver incremental capability, with requirements workshops, detailed user stories, backlog management, sprint planning, and cross functional participation from Finance and Procurement stakeholders. The deployment emphasized operational handover, documented runbooks, and continuous alignment between Coupa Invoice configuration, business process owners, and the IT technology roadmap.

| PayScale | Legacy | Payscale Payfactors | Compensation Management | HCM | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Foundation Medicine implemented Payscale Payfactors as its Compensation Management platform to centralize Total Rewards processes and governance across the company. The deployment targeted the Total Rewards Center of Excellence and was positioned to support base pay administration, short term incentive programs, long term incentive administration, promotions, pay for performance and executive compensation consistent with Roche Holding AG guidelines.
Payscale Payfactors was configured to operationalize job architecture and career laddering frameworks, market pricing and salary structure management, compensation budgeting and planning, offer recommendation workflows, and reporting and analytics for leadership reviews. The configuration emphasized role evaluation, internal equity review capabilities, and compensation modeling to support promotions, equity adjustments and salary increase planning.
Operational integration focused on functional connectivity rather than specific technical replacements, aligning Payscale Payfactors with Finance workflows for budgeting and fringe rate analysis, with Roche Shareholder Services for long term incentive plan administration, and with People Strategy Leaders, People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and business leaders for offer and job evaluation processes. Coverage extended across the People Team, Finance, Legal and Commercial functions, and supported communications to senior leadership and Roche Total Rewards peers.
Governance responsibilities were vested in the Director, Total Rewards and the COE, who led program design, implementation, communications and administration of compensation and benefits related policies. Processes instituted included annual benefits and compensation review cycles, oversight of benefits plan documents and open enrollment communications, preparation of Total Reward education collateral, and participation in OFCCP and other compliance activities to ensure consistent program administration.

| Thermo Fisher Scientific | Legacy | Thermo Scientific Core ELN | Clinical Trial Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2011 | 2012 |
In 2011, Foundation Medicine deployed Thermo Scientific clinical LIMS (Nautilus/Clinical LIMS) and implemented Thermo Scientific Core ELN within its Clinical Trial Management environment in the United States. The program supported next generation sequencing based clinical diagnostics for oncology, centralizing sample centric workflows and integrated clinical reporting across laboratory operations.
The Thermo Scientific clinical LIMS implementation delivered core capabilities for sample tracking, chain of custody, assay run documentation, and regulatory compliance reporting aligned with clinical diagnostics workflows. Thermo Scientific Core ELN was used for experimental and assay documentation alongside the LIMS, enabling electronic protocol authoring, structured data capture for assay development, and linkage of laboratory notebook records to sample identifiers.
Operational coverage focused on clinical laboratory and oncology testing functions, unifying assay development documentation with clinical sample management to streamline handoffs between research and clinical reporting. The deployment leveraged Thermo Fisher Scientific informatics suite principles to align platform level ELN capabilities with Nautilus clinical LIMS functionality, supporting coordinated, sample centric workflows.
Governance emphasis included standardized documentation practices, controlled assay recordkeeping, and compliance oriented workflow enforcement to support regulatory reporting requirements. The implementation enabled robust sample tracking, regulatory compliance, and integrated clinical reporting within Foundation Medicine Clinical Trial Management processes.
