S/4HANA interfaces were established for route plan, test and quality management and for the high rack system to enable operational interoperability between warehouse automation and enterprise processes. The operational coverage targeted the BAU division and central divisions across the Königsberg site, which includes 24 buildings and more than 100 storage types, and impacted logistics, quality and user departments that manage picking and distribution operations.
Project governance emphasized strict prioritization and focus on essential processes, supporting a less than ten month implementation timeline that respected a condensed rollout schedule. The go-live exceeded management and user department expectations by handling higher than planned picking volumes during a strong season start, the implementation now serves as a template for other warehouse rollouts, and FIS continues to provide ongoing support with several joint projects planned or partially implemented.
