In 2014, Fresh Del Monte implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform to consolidate core financial and operational processes across its global business. The 2014 rollout included an Oracle EBS R12 upgrade covering 14 countries, configuration of 14 modules, support for approximately 1,600 users, management of roughly 10,000 CEMLIs, deployment across four languages and five time zones, and coordination of more than 250 interfaces, delivered on time and on budget.
The Oracle E-Business Suite configuration focused on modular ERP Financial capabilities, with deliberate reduction of customizations and standardization of core business logic. Implementation work reduced the inventory of customizations by 35 percent and a sourcing strategy for the program produced a documented budget reduction of $600,000. Hosting and service optimizations associated with the Oracle E-Business Suite program produced an explicit annual hosting cost reduction of $700,000.
Integrations were extensive, with more than 250 interfaces connecting Oracle E-Business Suite to other enterprise applications and a global Electronic Forms framework that integrated more than 20 electronic forms into existing processes. Accounts payable automation was implemented using a standardized invoice processing solution with ReadSoft Kofax across North America, Canada, Chile, Guatemala and Costa Rica, standardizing AP workflows and achieving a reported AP operating cost reduction and license cost savings as documented by the program team.
Governance and operational ownership were centralized under the Corporate IT applications organization, which directed business solution definition, application development, global project management, 24 by 7 support, database and middleware operations. The program adopted modern middleware and process approaches, including WebLogic, SOA, BPM and Agile Scrum delivery for selected custom initiatives, and aligned infrastructure workstreams to move core corporate infrastructure to co-location and cloud hosting while standardizing platform components such as Oracle Virtual Machine and Linux databases, RMAN backups and Citrix for remote access.

In 2022, Fresh Del Monte implemented Decapolis Food Guard, deploying a Blockchain Platform to introduce blockchain-backed traceability across its pineapple supply chain. The rollout was announced and began in 2022, with initial deployment concentrated on operations in Costa Rica and a focus on supply chain and food-safety processes.
Decapolis Food Guard was configured to use QR codes to capture immutable records at discrete supply chain touchpoints, creating serialized, time-stamped provenance data on a blockchain ledger. The implementation emphasized traceability and food-safety capabilities, enabling end-to-end traceability workflows and ledgered audit trails through QR-based data capture and blockchain recording.
Operational scope covered supply chain and food-safety functions for pineapple operations in Costa Rica, and governance followed a staged rollout approach beginning in 2022. The project implements the Decapolis Food Guard module within the Blockchain Platform category to provide immutable recordkeeping and traceability for regulatory and operational traceability needs.
