In 2009, Future Pool implemented SAP Business One, an ERP Financial application, to automate order intake and align sales orders with production planning. The small German distributor executed the implementation in collaboration with AdS Consulting GmbH, concentrating on the specialist retailer channel and the company shop ordering flow.
SAP Business One was configured to create sales orders automatically when specialist retailers place orders via the shop, and to send immediate order confirmations back to those retailers. Functional capabilities emphasized during the rollout included order management, automated confirmation workflows, and the capture of order data for downstream production scheduling.
The deployment integrated shop-originated orders directly into ERP transactions, routing order details into order processing and production planning workflows. Operational coverage spanned sales, order processing, and production planning teams, enabling coordinated handling of retailer orders and capacity planning.
Governance and process changes were implemented with AdS Consulting GmbH to standardize the automated order confirmation and production planning inputs. The solution now saves time and minimizes manual labor, and it supports more precise planning of production capacities as described by Future Pool and AdS Consulting GmbH.
