| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014, Gail India implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to support core ERP Financial operations. The implementation work described centers on enterprise system management across ABAP and JAVA stacks, with explicit operational coverage of Production, Quality and Development servers and standard SAP solution management tooling such as SOLMAN 7.1.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 system management tasks included configuring the Transport Management System landscape and importing ABAP transport requests, applying support pack stacks and kernel upgrades for both ABAP and JAVA stacks, and performing add-on installation and SAP Note implementation. Security and authorization administration was handled inside the SAP ABAP system, with user creation, deactivation, role assignment and mass user maintenance, together with password resets and account lock unlock operations.
The deployment architecture integrated SAP ERP ECC 6.0 with a broader SAP application footprint listed in the assignment history, including SRM, PI, BW, GRC, CRM, E-Rec and MDM, with Solution Manager SOLMAN 7.1 used for monitoring and EarlyWatch reporting. The underlying infrastructure used SUN SOLARIS 10 as the operating system and Oracle 11g as the database, reflecting an ABAP and JAVA stack architecture tied to Oracle database management processes.
Operational governance emphasized continuous monitoring and scheduled automation, including background job scheduling, monitoring of system availability, disk space and system performance, analysis of system dumps and spool jobs, and preparation of daily health check reports. Backup and recovery governance covered scheduling of daily online plus log database backups, weekly offline backups coordinated with DBA calendars, use of BRStarTools for Oracle online and offline backups, and routine application of DB patches and OPatch for database maintenance.
Disaster recovery and availability procedures were explicit components of the implementation, with creation of standby systems for failover and documented execution of a successful disaster recovery switchover from primary to DR and a switchback from DR to primary. The narrative centers on SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the operational ERP Financial application for Gail India and details the system level operations, integrations and governance used to maintain availability and support business functions.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP BW (Business Warehouse) | Data Warehouse | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014, Gail India implemented SAP BW (Business Warehouse) as its Data Warehouse. The deployment was supported by Wipro Infotech application management staff assigned from August 2013 to November 2014, and the SAP BW environment operated within a multi stack SAP estate that included both ABAP and JAVA components.
SAP BW (Business Warehouse) implementation addressed core data warehouse capabilities including data modeling, data provisioning and ETL, query development and enterprise reporting to consolidate transactional data from SAP modules. Operational activities captured during the assignment included Transport Management System configuration and imports of transport requests for ABAP, applying support pack stacks and kernel upgrades for ABAP and JAVA stacks, add on installation, SAP Note implementation, security and authorization administration, user creation and mass user maintenance, and scheduled background job management.
The BW environment ran on SUN SOLARIS 10 with Oracle 11g and formed part of an integrated SAP landscape alongside ECC, SRM, PI, GRC, CRM, E Rec, MDM and SOLMAN 7.1. Monitoring and operations used Solution Manager artifacts such as EarlyWatch reports and daily health checks across Production, Quality and Development servers, with database backup and recovery processes executed via BR*Tools. An Oracle database upgrade from 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.4 was performed as part of ongoing platform management.
Governance centered on TMS based change control, scheduled job monitoring, incident troubleshooting and profile and role maintenance in the ABAP system. Disaster recovery work included creating standby systems and carrying out a documented failover and switchback between primary and DR, validating operational resilience for the Data Warehouse infrastructure.
