In 2014, Gentex implemented Infor XA as its Manufacturing ERP when converting a major manufacturing, distribution and engineering facility from SAP Business One. The program was led by an internal lead team that coordinated the conversion across shop floor, warehouse and engineering groups, driving the facility level deployment of Infor XA.
Implementation work focused on core Infor XA manufacturing and ERP capabilities, including production scheduling, shop floor control, inventory management, order management, engineering bill of materials and financial modules. Configuration emphasized discrete manufacturing workflows and material requirements planning consistent with Manufacturing ERP functional practices.
Data migration and master data consolidation moved transactional records and reference masters from SAP Business One into Infor XA, aligning item master records, bills of material, work orders and inventory valuation data. The deployment covered manufacturing operations, distribution functions and engineering change workflows, and extended to finance and procurement to support integrated order to cash and procure to pay sequences.
Governance followed a facility focused rollout with staged cutover and role based training for supervisors, engineers and distribution personnel, and established operational ownership for configuration and ongoing maintenance in Infor XA. Change control and standardized workflows were implemented to embed production, distribution and engineering processes into the new Manufacturing ERP environment.
