In 2020 Glen Dimplex implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform under a global program named Project Causeway. The engagement focused on delivering a global business template to overhaul Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Plan to Manufacture, Finance, Distribution, and Supply Chain Management processes, with Laridae retained to provide an extraction, transformation and load solution and business data preparation services.
The implementation addressed a broad object set, with 54 distinct data objects targeted for migration into SAP S/4 HANA. Laridae supplied standardized templates for objects with no existing source data, prioritized top-selling customers and materials to ensure complete bills of materials for product costing, and used month-end data snapshots to preserve financial integrity and prove trial balances during testing.
Architecturally the program ran parallel migration and live environments to support ongoing data cleansing while test migrations executed, and the migration toolchain was specified to extract source data, enrich and cleanse attributes, transform into S/4 HANA formats, report on data quality, load via iDocs or LTMC output files, and reconcile loaded records. Data quality reporting was a core capability, surfacing downstream impacts of upstream defects and demonstrating the effect of enrichment and cleansing activities on load readiness.
Governance included dedicated review sessions with business process owners to determine treatments for each data quality issue and to track remediation progress, which aligned data cleansing with the design and testing of target business processes. The approach emphasized prioritized object sequencing, iterative quality gates, and controlled cutover rehearsals to support finance and operational teams during hyper care and subsequent territory rollouts to SAP S/4 HANA.
Outcomes reported by the program show that within eight months all 54 data objects achieved 100% conformity to defined data quality rules, the migration completed on schedule enabling the project to exit hyper care in half the planned time, two ERP systems were consolidated into the SAP S/4 HANA environment, and Glen Dimplex outperformed the previous year’s revenue within one month after go live. Laridae remains engaged as further territories are rolled into SAP S/4 HANA.

The deployment targeted billing, accounts receivable and credit management teams supporting UK and International market accounts with operational coordination out of Dublin.
The implementation configured core credit management capabilities in SAP S/4 HANA Credit Management, including credit limit assignment and reviews, order hold and release controls, customer credit scoring workflows, and periodic AR reporting used for daily, weekly and monthly billing reconciliation. Configuration work emphasized user acceptance testing, knowledge transfer and training to embed workflows into regular billing and collections operations.
Operational integrations and handoffs were focused on the Fresh Service ticketing system for billing request intake, coordination with Returns and Sales teams for dispute resolution, and direct AR processing on S4Hanna FSCM for invoice issuance and reconciliation. The program supported a small centralized billing team structure, including onboarding and leadership of three billing analysts, with documented process ownership across Billing, Returns, Sales and Credit Management.
Governance included structured UAT, formal knowledge transfer cycles, and training driven by the Senior Billing, AR and Credit Management Analyst role to operationalize credit limit reviews and order management. Explicit outcomes included process improvements and the successful recovery of outstanding invoices, documented as a 500k payment following system and process changes.
