In 2013, GoodLife Fitness implemented Google Hire as its Recruiting,Applicant Tracking System and deployed the application to handle candidate application flows directly on its corporate careers website. The deployment positioned Google Hire as the primary system for intake and applicant tracking on the company website, supporting online job postings and candidate submissions for roles in GoodLife Fitness Canada.
The implementation configured standard ATS functional modules including job requisition management, job posting and distribution, candidate sourcing and profile management, pipeline and stage tracking, interview scheduling workflows, candidate communication templates, offer tracking, and basic reporting. Google Hire was used to structure recruiter queues and hiring manager review stages, and to maintain candidate records and activity history for each open requisition.
Operationally the Google Hire implementation focused on web-facing application capture, routing inbound applicants to talent acquisition queues, and enabling hiring managers and recruiters to manage pipelines for both frontline and corporate hiring needs. The application was embedded into the careers experience on the GoodLife Fitness website, providing the primary channel for external applicants to apply and for internal recruiters to process applicant flows.
Governance centered on centralized talent acquisition administration, role based access for recruiters and hiring managers, standardized pipeline stages and interview coordination workflows, and audit oriented candidate activity logs consistent with Recruiting,Applicant Tracking System practices. The deployment emphasized consistent hiring workflow configuration across GoodLife Fitness recruitment teams without reference to prior systems.

In 2016 GoodLife Fitness implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) to centralize reporting and analytics. The implementation was executed under the Analytics and BI category, focusing on Microsoft SQL Server platform administration and enterprise BI components across GoodLife Fitness Canada.
Workstreams covered configuration and administration of SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Analysis Services, plus core database engineering. Deliverables included database schema design, tables, stored procedures, user permissions control, TSQL development, and policy and audit management. The team implemented backup and restore routines, SQL Server performance tuning, and scripted automation to operationalize routine tasks.
High availability and resilience were addressed through implementation and configuration of Microsoft Failover Cluster solutions and Always On Failover Cluster configurations, with additional oversight of mirroring, log shipping and replication. The technical environment leveraged MS SQL Management Studio, MS Performance Monitor, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, ODBC and ADO across a mixed server estate that included Windows Servers 2008 and up, AIX, HPUX and CentOS. Storage, backup and archiving recovery procedures were validated as part of the deployment.
Governance activities included planning, performing and documenting software upgrades, defining backup and restore policies and establishing user permission and audit controls. Operational ownership encompassed ongoing SQL Server administration, migration and consolidation tasks, with shell script automation introduced to reduce manual operations. The role transitioned from contractor to permanent team member after two weeks, indicating sustained operational responsibility.
Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) was therefore embedded as the enterprise reporting and analytics layer, with implemented capabilities for reporting, ETL, and multidimensional analysis. The implementation emphasized availability, recoverability and operational governance and established day to day administration and high availability foundations for GoodLife Fitness analytics and database services.
