In 2021 Gothaer Group implemented ServiceNow Software Asset Management as part of a broader Software Asset Management (SAM),IT Asset Management (ITAM) strategy to centralize software lifecycle and license oversight across the enterprise. The rollout was executed under Gothaer Systems, the group’s central IT service provider, with the goal of delivering a single, modern toolset accessible to users throughout the Gothaer Group in support of operating and service process standardization.
The implementation configured ServiceNow Software Asset Management on the Now Platform alongside the company’s IT Service Management instance, emphasizing standard SAM capabilities such as software cataloging, inventory reconciliation, license and contract management, and automated entitlement reconciliation. Configuration favored out of the box functionality with controlled customizations to maintain upgradeability and yearly release cadence.
Architecture and operational delivery leveraged the Now Platform release lifecycle, exemplified by the platform upgrade from New York to Paris in autumn 2020 which was completed including tests in a four week window, enabling the platform team to adopt an annual upgrade rhythm. agineo supported the platform team during upgrade and deployment activities, enabling the internal ServiceNow platform administration team to own ongoing configuration and release management.
Governance emphasized agile delivery and closer business collaboration, the platform administration team adopted two week sprints and parallel project strands to accelerate change requests and co creation with business stakeholders. The implementation narrowed handoffs between IT service management and asset workflows, and increased internal confidence in regular releases and continuous improvement of ServiceNow Software Asset Management across Gothaer Group.
