In 2015, Government of British Columbia implemented Oracle Cloud EPM to standardize provincial financial planning and reporting across finance and supply chain functions. The implementation used Oracle EPM Cloud PBCS as the planning and budgeting engine and was configured for driver-based budgeting, periodic forecasting, management reporting and consolidation workflows. Configuration included rule-based data loads, scheduled batch feeds and planning business rules to automate planning cycles and reporting orchestration.
Integrations were implemented with Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 Financials and Supply Chain modules to exchange transactional and master data, and with a data warehouse layer that fed into ServiceNow or MySC for data warehousing and service management touchpoints. The architecture emphasized a staged data ingestion layer, mapping and transformation into Oracle Cloud EPM for planning and reporting consumption.
Operational governance established role-based access controls for provincial finance and supply chain teams, centralized planning governance and coordinated monthly close orchestration. Implementation staffing included a Sr. Consultant within Government of British Columbia who supported ongoing configuration and support, and change control with scheduled release windows was used to coordinate updates across departments.
