In 2019 Groupe Barriere implemented Workday Financial Management as its centralized finance platform, a deployment classified under the ERP Financial category to provide a single source of accounting and people data across the group. The deployment covered a hospitality footprint of 18 luxury hotels and 34 casinos, supporting roughly 7,000 full time employees and an extended seasonal workforce, and involved migrating financial processes from Oracle PeopleSoft ERP into Workday Financial Management to consolidate accounting operations group wide.
The implementation included Financial Management along with Human Capital, Procurement Management, Payroll for France, and Time Tracking modules, configured to standardize and simplify finance and HR workflows. Configuration emphasized granular transaction visibility and tailored views for finance and HR personnel, enabling drill down to the most detailed transaction elements while maintaining standardized chart of accounts and process templates across business units.
Operationally the solution was enacted as a group wide, cloud native finance and people platform, providing anytime, anywhere access on multiple devices to authorized users. The program unified accounting and people related datasets so accounting, finance, and HR could collaborate on a single dataset, reducing data discrepancies and improving cross functional alignment without introducing new named third party integrations.
Governance and rollout were led by an internal finance transformation program office, with the finance transformation program manager and a dedicated internal project team driving process rationalization and staff enablement. The program restructured month end and operational reporting workflows to emphasize real time data access, and established ongoing community engagement as Groupe Barriere joined the larger Workday customer community to share practices and maintain configuration alignment.
Documented outcomes from the Workday Financial Management rollout include faster decision making through real time finance information, improved access to accounting and finance data which reduced time spent extracting precise information by up to several days, stronger talent retention driven by modern systems, and improved customer service through quicker operational responsiveness.
