UKG Legacy UKG Pro HCM (ex UltiPro HCM) Core HR HCM n/a 2019 2019
In 2019 Hachette Book Group implemented UKG Pro HCM (ex UltiPro HCM) to serve as its Core HR platform and to centralize HR and payroll operations. The deployment supports enterprise HR functions across HRIS operations, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and employee lifecycle processes managed by HR and Payroll teams. Configuration work emphasized canonical employee data tables, benefits administration setup, payroll interface points, and lifecycle workflows for onboarding and acquisitions. UKG Pro HCM (ex UltiPro HCM) was configured to maintain data integrity through table audits and operational controls, and to manage open enrollment and employee orientation processes. Integrations were explicitly instrumented with recruiting and people analytics tools, including Jobvite, Culture Amp, and Paradigm Reach, and the HRIS was used to orchestrate the integration of new hires and acquired companies into HR and payroll systems. Operational coordination included joint reporting processes with Finance and Payroll and technical execution with IT to synchronize employee data feeds and payroll-related interfaces. Governance and compliance responsibilities are routed through HRIS operations and benefits management, including completion of federal and state compliance audits such as EEO-1, 5500 filings, and non-discrimination testing. The HRIS operations function also centrally manages vendor relationships for health and welfare plans and 401k providers, oversees open enrollment, and provides compensation recommendations informed by market data.
