Microsoft Microsoft Dynamics GP Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP Financial ERP Financial Management Boyer & Associates 2019 2020 In 2019 Harkraft implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as its ERP Financial system, migrating from Microsoft Dynamics GP to a Microsoft cloud-hosted deployment. The Minneapolis-based manufacturer moved to the cloud to address performance, concurrency and maintenance problems experienced with the previous GP installation. Boyer & Associates led configuration and implementation work that emphasized simplifying processes, cleaning master data and removing unnecessary customizations. The engagement reduced the companys part numbers by two-thirds and eliminated the need for the Horizons manufacturing and inventory add-on, while aligning core functionality for finance, accounting, inventory and manufacturing transactions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The Business Central deployment leveraged cloud hosting to enable remote access and concurrent multi-user operation, allowing multiple staff members and the longtime bookkeeper to work simultaneously and to post transactions while other tasks occur. The project replaced the prior Dynamics GP setup and consolidated functionality that had been split across add-ons, without introducing other named integrations in the available case materials. Governance centered on partner-led process simplification, phased data cleanup and removal of redundant custom modules, which kept the project on budget and produced a stable production environment. Reported outcomes from Harkraft include smoother operations, increased productivity, improved interface responsiveness for work-from-home scenarios, and broad team acceptance of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP Financial solution.
