In 2018 Hayleys PLC implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform to provide a unified, high-performance core across multiple operating units. IBM Services acted as the system integrator and led a single blueprint project that initially amalgamated four subsidiaries, Fentons, Aventura, Hayleys Dipped Products and Hayleys agriculture operations, into one program of work to improve group level visibility and operational control.
IBM Services scoped and configured SAP S/4 HANA Enterprise Management and deployed almost all available modules required for enterprise operations, explicitly including finance and controlling, sales and distribution, material management, production planning, plant maintenance, project systems and customer service. The implementation addressed standard ERP Financial workflows such as procure to pay and order to cash, and included development of custom reports and enhancements that Hayleys personnel were trained to design and produce independently.
The technical architecture incorporated IBM Power Systems servers and IBM Storwize storage alongside IBM Application Management Services and IBM Systems Lab Services to host and sustain the SAP S/4 HANA environment. IBM Services also designed the solution to integrate transactional and master data across the selected subsidiaries, enabling a common data model and consistent financial controls across group entities.
Governance and rollout were centralized under Hayleys Group Information Technology Head Shuhail Mohamed, with a single project blueprint driving configuration consistency and phased onboarding. IBM and Hayleys jointly trained operational teams, transferred reporting and system maintenance skills to internal staff, and adopted a scale up approach so additional Hayleys entities can be brought onto SAP S/4 HANA with reduced implementation overhead.
With SAP S/4 HANA in place Hayleys gained real time visibility into business performance, stronger business controls and improved integrity and accuracy of financial data across the four sectors. The deployment supported increased employee productivity, improved cross unit collaboration and created a platform intended to enable future business model workstreams and innovation across the Hayleys group.

| SUSE Group | Legacy | SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications | Operating System (OS) | PaaS | IBM | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Hayleys PLC standardized its SAP infrastructure by deploying SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications, classified as Operating System (OS), to host SAP S/4HANA workloads. IBM Services led the implementation using IBM Power servers and IBM Storage across four of the group's sectors to centralize platform operations and improve cross‑sector performance visibility.
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications was configured with SAP HANA tuned kernel parameters, SAP certified system profiles and enterprise support tooling to meet SAP S/4HANA operational requirements. The implementation emphasized OS level availability and performance controls, including system parameter tuning and standardized provisioning templates for repeatable server builds.
Integrations included SAP S/4HANA on IBM Power servers and IBM Storage, with the operating system acting as the platform layer for application and database hosting. Operational coverage spanned four sectors of Hayleys PLC, with the Fentons sector explicitly identified as running finance and reporting workloads on the new stack, affecting finance and back-office functions.
IBM Services executed a phased sector rollout that standardized operating procedures and platform governance for SAP workloads, enabling centralized OS management and clearer performance visibility. The deployment produced stated operational outcomes, including saving two days in monthly closing processes, achieving a 60% time saving on financial reporting in the Fentons sector, and enabling up to 25% potential savings from consolidating back-office operations.
