| SAP | Legacy | SAP Forecasting and Replenishment | Advanced Planning and Scheduling | SCM | n/a | 2015 | 2015 | In 2015 Hipercor implemented SAP Forecasting and Replenishment as a core Advanced Planning and Scheduling capability across El Corte Inglés and Hipercor to centralize demand planning for fresh categories. The deployment targeted granular product-location planning for approximately 200,000 product-location combinations, with explicit emphasis on fresh products that require tighter planning horizons and rapid replenishment cycles. SAP Forecasting and Replenishment served as the centralized forecasting engine and order proposal generator for store level demand signals and replenishment planning. The configuration leveraged standard SAP F&R functional modules including statistical forecasting engines, replenishment planning, and product-location master data management, configured to manage freshness constraints and replenishment policies. The implementation established automated planning runs and exception-based proposals, and tuned forecasting parameters and planning horizons to reflect perishable item behavior and promotional volatility. Operational workflows included generation of order proposals and planning outputs intended to feed execution processes at warehouses and stores. Governance was organized around a named SAP F&R Consultant and a responsible solution owner who managed master data governance, planning parameter updates, and ongoing solution stewardship. Operational scope covered merchandising, supply chain planning, and store operations across Hipercor and El Corte Inglés stores in Spain, aligning planning outputs with store replenishment workflows. The rollout emphasized process orchestration and governance for parameter control and exception handling to maintain planning accuracy within fresh product assortments. | |
