| EdgeVerve | Legacy | Infosys Finacle India Trade Connect Blockchain | Blockchain Platform | Blockchain | n/a | 2019 | 2019 | In 2019 Hatton National Bank (HNB) implemented Infosys Finacle India Trade Connect Blockchain, deploying a Blockchain Platform to pilot a domestic and cross-border trade finance network. The implementation positioned HNB to connect with corresponding banking partners and corporate clients in Sri Lanka, establishing a shared infrastructure for trade and supply chain finance workflows. The Infosys Finacle India Trade Connect Blockchain deployment focused on digitizing trade finance business processes, including validation of ownership and certification of documents, while supporting a full suite of trade and supply chain finance products such as Open Account, Letter of Credit, Invoice Financing, Bills Collection, PO Financing and Bank Guarantees. The solution enabled direct digital relationships between banks, buyers and sellers, and provided instant transfer of messages and documents to reduce lifecycle turnaround time and increase automation and transparency. Architecturally the Finacle Trade Connect solution was implemented as a distributed, trusted and shared network that is agnostic to underlying blockchain infrastructure, explicitly supporting Hyperledger, Corda, Ethereum and Bitcoin style platforms. This design choice aimed to protect banks from technology evolution risks while enabling real-time availability of data for more informed decision making across trade finance operations. Operational scope centered on trade finance and supply chain finance business functions, with the pilot rollout coordinated between HNB, participating banks and corporate clients to trial cross-border and domestic flows. Infosys Finacle India Trade Connect Blockchain was used to orchestrate workflow digitalization, reduce manual document handling, and enable improved risk management and new business avenue creation as stated in the implementation announcement. |
