In 2017 Hydrel implemented SAP S/4 HANA and completed a planned Go Live on May 1, 2017, after migrating from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 following the company sale at the end of 2016. The project was delivered by Innflow with private cloud hosting, executed against a four month timeline while recording 330 project days of effort, and the initiative was scoped to introduce a full SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial backbone without interrupting production operations.
The implementation used SAP HANA as the platform and leveraged SAP Best Practice building blocks to accelerate configuration and reduce custom development. Core functional capabilities implemented included ERP Financial functionality, batch management for traceability, barcode and label generation tailored for automotive supply requirements, and the use of the JoinApps add-on for printing and stamping production orders and CAD drawings.
Integrations were executed as explicit interfaces rather than bespoke replacements, including a Seeburger EDI Cloud Service connection for multi-customer ordering processes, an SAP interface to the MES machine data system to capture production data from punching machines, and an interface for FORCAM employee time recording that feeds SAP HCM. A SAP Fiori application was developed to provide online retrieval of recorded working hours and vacation balances, and Innflow established a ticketing based support model via the Innflow Service Desk.
Project governance used Innflow’s SAP qualified, adaptable delivery method with short workshops for key users, a lean decision making team, and weekly steering committee reviews with target to actual tracking via Innflow’s time recording. Data migration from the former Schaeffler systems was completed as part of cutover planning, on-site consultant support was provided for two weeks after Go Live, and longer term operational support transitioned to the Innflow Service Desk.

In 2017 Hydrel implemented SAP Manufacturing Execution with a targeted go-live on May 1, 2017 to ensure continuity of production following the sale that left the previous Schaeffler Group IT landscape unavailable. The program was executed under a four month timeline and prioritized a live production feed from day one, aligning the SAP Manufacturing Execution deployment with the broader SAP ERP on SAP HANA landscape commissioned for Hydrel.
The implementation delivered Manufacturing Execution System functionality tightly integrated with production traceability, batch management, and barcode and label printing requirements for automotive supply. The project included configuration of MES machine data capture and feedback for punching machines, integration of the JoinApps add-on for printing and stamping production orders and CAD drawings, and the development of a SAP Fiori application for online retrieval of recorded working hours and vacation balances, all within the SAP Manufacturing Execution context.
Integrations were explicit and scoped to operational systems, Innflow provisioned private cloud hosting and built the SAP HANA ERP platform, while a Seeburger EDI Cloud Service was used to connect customer ordering processes. The solution established an SAP interface to the MES for shop floor data, an interface to FORCAM for employee time recording with direct feeds into SAP HCM, and EDI channels to customers to support order and delivery workflows, covering production, supply chain, and HR functions at Hydrel AG headquarters in Romanshorn, Switzerland.
Innflow led the project delivery using SAP Best Practice building blocks to minimize customization and training effort, running multiple short workshops with key users to finalize scope and capture specific metal processing requirements. Project governance included daily time tracking of consultant effort, weekly steering committee reviews of status and budget, a lean decision making project team, on-site consultant support for two weeks after go-live, and ongoing support via the Innflow Service Desk.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Fiori | Apps Development | PaaS | Innflow | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 Hydrel implemented SAP Fiori as part of an Apps Development initiative to support a new SAP ERP landscape after the company separation at the end of 2016, with a firm go live date of May 1, 2017. The four month project was executed by Innflow with private cloud hosting and included the provisioning of required SAP licenses and 330 project days recorded across planning, configuration and testing.
Implementation scope centered on building a new SAP ERP system on SAP HANA and delivering SAP Fiori as the front end for employee self-service access, specifically an SAP Fiori application for online retrieval of recorded working hours and vacation balances. The technical approach used SAP Best Practice building blocks to accelerate configuration and minimize process change, limiting training overhead while preserving shop floor continuity for fine blanking production.
Key functional modules and integrations implemented included SAP HCM integration for time recording, batch management for component traceability, label and barcode generation for automotive supply, and the JoinApps add-on for printing and stamping production orders and CAD drawings. System-level integrations explicitly delivered were a Seeburger EDI Cloud Service connection to support multiple customer ordering processes, an SAP interface to the MES for direct transmission of punching machine production data and feedback, and an interface to FORCAM for employee time capture feeding SAP HCM.
Project governance followed Innflow’s SAP qualified method, with short workshops for key users, a lean project team with empowered decision-makers, and weekly steering committee reviews of status and budget. Consultants logged effort daily enabling target to actual comparisons, the final scope was approved by Hydrel management, and on-site consultant support was provided for two weeks after go live before operational support continued via the Innflow Service Desk ticketing tool.
Hydrel SAP Fiori Apps Development was implemented to ensure uninterrupted production during the cutover, the solution was installed in the hosted data center environment and operational support handover was completed after the initial two week on-site stabilization period on May 1, 2017.
