In 2010, IFMR Rural Finance operationalized the FIS Profile core banking solution, going live on April 1, 2010 to provide real-time core banking access for its KGFS rural branch network in India. The deployment centralized the customer master for retail microfinance customers and established a single transactional hub to unify branch and field activity under a common data model.
The FIS Profile implementation encompassed core capabilities aligned to the Core Banking category, including account management, deposits processing, loan origination and lifecycle servicing, teller and transaction processing, and customer data management. Configuration emphasized real-time posting, branch-connected workflows, and standardized product definitions to support KGFS transaction volumes and branch servicing requirements.
Operational coverage focused on KGFS rural branch operations in India and impacted business functions including branch operations, retail lending, deposit operations, and customer service. Governance and rollout were structured around centralized operational control and a unified customer record to standardize processes across sites, with the April 1, 2010 go-live documented in IFMR annual materials.
