Guidewire Legacy Guidewire BillingCenter Insurance Billing Administration ERP Services and Operations n/a 2018 2018
In 2018 Indiana Farm Bureau implemented Guidewire BillingCenter as part of a Guidewire suite that includes ClaimsCenter and PolicyCenter, adopting Guidewire BillingCenter to support Insurance Billing Administration for its property and casualty business lines. The deployment targeted agent-distributed auto and home insurance billing workflows and aligned billing operations with policy lifecycle events and rating inputs. Configuration work centered on billing cycle orchestration and policy to billing reconciliation, with explicit development of translation documents between Guidewire PolicyCenter and Guidewire BillingCenter to ensure field-level consistency. Business analysts produced Business Requirement Documents, Technical and Design specifications, and Report Specification Documents, and authored user stories and system integration test plans to validate billing functionality and rating interactions for Property and Casualty lines. Integrations were validated across the Guidewire suite, with PolicyCenter and ClaimsCenter coordination, and PolicyCenter interfacing with existing core systems plus document output management systems xPression and OnBase and the Rules and Rating Engine as documented in requirements. The implementation environment included SOA elements for claims processing and supporting technologies used during delivery such as Salesforce.com, Rally, JIRA, Informatica, Duck Creek, Altova MapForce, Java, MySQL, Tableau, HP ALM, and Sybase Power Designer, and the program managed a transition of physical data center assets to Salesforce Cloud. Governance and rollout used Agile Scrum practices, with JAD sessions to align stakeholders, sprint planning and backlog management with the Product Owner, and coordinated QA activities across functional and performance testing teams. The team executed gap analysis, created test cases and executed UAT, tracked defects through a formal tracking tool, and managed release demos and sprint ceremonies to enforce transparency and traceability across billing, customer portfolio, forms, policy, and claims groups.
