In 2021, ING implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as part of the Beacon R13 General Ledger and Accounting Hub program. The deployment used Oracle Fusion R13 and positioned Oracle Cloud ERP within the ERP Financial category to centralize General Ledger and core accounting capabilities across the bank.
The implementation included Oracle Fusion R13 modules for General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Cash Management, Tax, and Expenses, and involved complex customization to map ING banking products into the Oracle Fusion Accounting Hub. Daily automated processing was driven by the Create Accounting Program, with operational responsibilities to receive and push end of day data into Oracle Fusion on a daily cadence.
Integrations and stakeholder architecture encompassed DEP, EDO, OFSAA and OBIA for reporting, and required coordination with global business teams to document GL and Fusion Accounting module requirements. Operational tooling included low level ad hoc query tools such as Toad and SQLDeveloper, and testing streams spanned IBOR and APTP efforts to resolve impediments across global stakeholders.
Governance and run book activities were formalized around SLA monitoring, troubleshooting of EOD interfaces, functional testing for disaster recovery and period to ten activities related to General Ledger, and a TWS UAC migration executed using the XCT Tool. The engagement functioned as a finance systems implementation and operationalization effort, with lead functional responsibilities for configuration, testing coordination, and ongoing SLA maintenance.

In 2017, ING implemented Workday Absence Management. Workday Absence Management was deployed within ING Nederland as an Absence and Leave Management application to centralize employee leave workflows and absence records across HR operations.
The implementation was executed as part of a broader Workday program that included adjacent functional areas, with the Product Owner responsible for Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, Compensation, Expenses, Talent and Performance Management, Mobility and integrations in and out of Workday. Configuration work focused on absence types, entitlement and accrual rules, absence request and approval workflows, and alignment with time tracking and mobility processes to ensure consistent HR case handling.
Integrations were scoped as bidirectional interfaces in and out of Workday, supporting data exchange between Absence Management and related HR modules. Operational coverage included ING Nederland HR and talent teams, with development and functional delivery coordinated across one scrum team in Amsterdam and a parallel scrum team in Calcutta, India.
Governance and rollout were led through an internal product ownership model, using agile scrum teams to manage configuration, testing and integration tasks. The governance structure connected HR process owners, talent acquisition and mobility leads to the Workday Product Owner to maintain rules, approvals and ongoing functional change.

Configuration work emphasized product catalog consolidation, centralized ledger controls, and automation of account lifecycle and payment processing workflows to support corporate and SME banking operations.
Deployment architecture followed a multi-country, multi-instance topology coordinated to accommodate regional regulatory and operational variants while maintaining a unified application baseline. The program integrated Infosys Finacle into ING's commercial banking operational landscape, aligning front-office commercial relationship management with back-office clearing and settlement processes.
Governance was organized as a joint ING and Infosys program with regional rollout sequencing across the 28-country footprint to manage configuration, testing, and operational cutover. The initiative restructured commercial banking workflows and centralized platform governance to support ongoing configuration management and release orchestration.
