| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014, IPS implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial system to consolidate multi-entity accounting and support expanding contract packing and manufacturing operations. The implementation was scoped to integrate trade and asset records from three acquired entities and newly acquired businesses, and to provide a single financial ledger capable of statutory reporting to UK GAAP while supporting group reporting under IFRS.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was configured to deliver core ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger consolidation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset management and intangible asset and goodwill accounting. Configuration work included invoice interface upload handling, support for multiple accounts payable purchase order methodologies, and fixed asset schedules required for acquisition accounting and external audit scrutiny.
The project included a technical and data transition from SAGE Line 50 to SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and the integration of transactional trade and asset data across multiple sites, including on-site customer manufacturing plant setups. Operational coverage included ongoing business as usual Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations, weekly and monthly financial reporting, and a dedicated finance team restructuring to align with centralized SAP-driven processes.
Governance work centered on preparing acquisition completion accounts, negotiating and settling disputed items with acquired entities, and producing audit-ready statutory accounts and supporting schedules for external auditors and the group parent. The SAP build was managed alongside finance process changes that ensured smooth transition of the acquired finance team, addressed audit challenges for intangible asset and goodwill calculations, and supported bank financing discussions tied to invoice discounting and asset financing.
These financial systems and integration activities were executed in parallel with wider corporate M&A and operational growth initiatives, which included acquisitions completed at the end of 2018, and documented growth from 2014 revenue of £18m toward an estimated £70m in 2019. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 served as the core ERP Financial platform to consolidate accounting, support external audit requirements and enable the finance governance needed for multi-entity reporting and post-acquisition integration.

In 2020, IPS implemented Vision Pro IMS as its Enterprise Asset Management application to support warehouse operations at the IPS Culina Kingswinford site. The deployment centered on operational control of incoming vehicles and dispatching lorries, and it established Vision Pro IMS as the primary tool for booking vehicles to site in accordance with site rules and the Goods In Calendar.
Vision Pro IMS was configured to manage inventory control and stock accuracy, to support perpetual stock checks on a rolling monthly cadence, and to coordinate customer and IPS stock records for inbound and outbound movements. Functional capabilities implemented include inventory management, appointment and goods in scheduling, and transaction-level stock reconciliation workflows to identify alien or incorrect stock for resolution.
The implementation was integrated with SAP and existing Vision systems used by IPS to plan and execute day to day operations, enabling record coordination between warehouse transactions and customer systems. Operational coverage focused on warehouse administration, customer service management, and coordinated stock auditing activities at the Kingswinford site.
Governance and process changes associated with the rollout formalized monthly perpetual checks, required liaison between warehouse teams and stock auditors to resolve inventory discrepancies, and embedded booking compliance through the Goods In Calendar.
