In 2021, Jellis Craig & Co deployed ReHero Alex AI, a Chatbots and Conversational AI application, as a 24/7 renter concierge to support property management and tenant communications across Australia. The deployment began as a pilot in partnership with Rental Heroes and ReHero AI to validate automated handling of common tenant queries before a broader rollout.
ReHero Alex AI was configured to answer lease questions, rent queries and maintenance requests using scripted conversational flows and a centralized knowledge base, and to escalate complex cases to human property management staff. The implementation emphasized automated first touch resolution, continuous availability, and conversational routing as primary functional capabilities of the ReHero Alex AI solution.
The rollout expanded from the pilot into an operational deployment across approximately 30 offices, covering property management teams and customer service functions. Integrations were operational in workflow and process terms, with the chatbot positioned as the primary tenant communications channel and responsible for routing unresolved issues to human agents for follow up.
Governance followed a pilot then phased rollout model, with oversight on escalation handling and staff handover processes during adoption. The initiative was explicitly aimed at improving customer experience and reducing load on property management staff through a 24/7 AI enabled renter concierge.
