The engagement positioned Workday Absence Management in the Absence and Leave Management category to standardize absence, time off and time tracking workflows across international sites, supporting HR, payroll and talent management functions.
The implementation included configuration of core HCM modules alongside absence capabilities, with explicit configuration of business processes, calculated fields, custom reports and dashboards. Functional workstreams covered Absence and Time Off, Time Tracking, Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Recruiting and Talent components, and the team produced standard, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports using Advanced Reporting, Report Writer, composite reporting and scorecards.
Integrations were tested and orchestrated end to end, using Workday Studio, EIB inbound and outbound, Core Connectors and document transformations, with Informatica Data Quality applied to validate Workday to SAP interfaces. The project executed system integration testing with third party systems including Kronos, Fidelity, Concur and Taleo, and built payroll and HR interfaces using web services, XML, XSLT and SOAP patterns for vendors such as ADP and Taleo, while retriggering interfaces and resolving discrepancies as part of test cycles.
Governance and delivery emphasized role based security, assignment of organization roles, requirement gathering, process flow documentation and extensive testing regimes. Testing and quality activities included ALM managed test script execution, multiple types of UAT and regression testing, JAD and JRP workshops, data validation and post production support, including tickets resolution and enhancements to business processes and integrations that sustain Workday Absence Management in daily HR operations.

The project began after Janssen found that existing off the shelf publication planning and management software created compliance gaps, required manual debarment checks and authorship agreement tracking, and produced onerous record extraction and expensive integrations that increased total cost of ownership.
Janssen implemented BP Logix Process Director as a low code Business Process Management platform, configuring the application to mirror its standard operating procedures. The deployment used pre built workflow components including Debarment Checks and Intelligent Review, and leveraged the platform's always on audit tracking and the patented Process Timeline capability to surface process metrics and step level durations. BP Logix Process Director was tailored to automate complex SOPs so submitters and reviewers no longer had to construct ad hoc workflows for each publication.
Integrations were implemented to connect Process Director with other enterprise applications where needed, enabling streamlined handoffs across the publication lifecycle and reducing manual interventions for compliance track downs. Operational coverage focused on Janssen publication submitters, reviewers, and the compliance and commercial strategy operations teams, with the solution designed to adapt as regulatory and business requirements evolved due to its low code architecture.
Governance and process changes centered on embedding automated compliance gates into the workflow and instituting audit first controls. The configuration aligned system behavior with Janssen SOPs, reducing reliance on external agencies for compliance investigations and centralizing review workflows under a consistent, auditable process.
The engagement produced explicit outcomes reported by Janssen, the new system solved 99% of their compliance issues according to Janssen leadership, reduced the time to submit a publication for review from several hours to minutes, and delivered a total cost of ownership approximately 50% lower than the prior solution. BP Logix Process Director was restated as the implemented platform for Business Process Management and remains the configured system for ongoing publication planning operations.
