In 2016, Kaporal engaged GEODIS under a multi year contract to manage logistics at its Grans site and implemented Geodis TMS for Transportation Management. The engagement covered receiving and warehousing merchandise and preparation of online and in store orders, handling around 10 million garments per year.
Geodis TMS was applied to provide transport management and visibility functions, aligning transport execution with the warehouse modernization program. Transportation Management capabilities inferred in the deployment include shipment planning and scheduling, carrier execution and real time transport visibility to support both ecommerce and retail fulfillment. The TMS supported orchestration of outbound flows from picking and packing through carrier handoff.
Operational coverage was concentrated at the Grans site and spanned warehouse operations, ecommerce order fulfillment and store replenishment processes. Interfaces were established between warehouse operations and the Geodis TMS to synchronize inventory staging and transport execution. The combined warehousing and transport scope reflects an integrated logistics approach for Kaporal's distribution footprint.
Governance for the implementation was driven by the multi year service contract with GEODIS, coordinating warehouse modernization rollouts and transport execution. The arrangement institutionalized transport visibility and execution in Kaporal's logistics and fulfillment functions.
