In 2008, KPN implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial application. The implementation formed part of a broader Oracle suite deployment that included Siebel CRM and Oracle Application Integration Architecture for Communications to align customer service, billing and financial systems. KPN had operated Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management in production since 1999 for consumer ADSL, VoIP, IP-TV and other IP services, and the program aimed to consolidate customer and billing data to support KPN's multi-play product strategy and deliver a unified customer experience.
Oracle E-Business Suite was configured to provide core financial management capabilities such as general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable, establishing the central ERP Financial backbone. The implementation emphasized integration points for billing reconciliation, revenue and payment flow orchestration, and financial close processes to support the real-time and flexible billing plans enabled by Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management. Configuration work focused on standardizing financial workflows and data models to enable end-to-end order-to-cash and revenue management.
Integrations were executed using Oracle Application Integration Architecture built on Fusion Middleware, leveraging productized integrations between Siebel CRM, Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management and Oracle E-Business Suite. Governance centered on creating a single, consolidated view of the customer and aligning operational processes across customer service, billing and finance teams to accelerate time-to-market for new services. KPN expected the combined Siebel CRM, Oracle AIA and Oracle E-Business Suite deployment to help reduce costs, speed time-to-market and improve customer satisfaction.

In 2016, KPN implemented Oracle Cloud HCM. The deployment targeted Core HR capabilities to centralize employee master data and standardize workforce lifecycle processes for the company in the Netherlands.
Oracle Cloud HCM was configured to deliver core HR modules including global employee records, position and job structures, absence and time management, benefits administration, and HR self service for managers and employees. The implementation emphasized configuration of security roles, organizational hierarchies, and hire to retire business process flows, aligning with common Core HR functional workflows and cloud SaaS operational patterns.
Governance and ongoing application stewardship were maintained internally, with a Solution Architect role at KPN Technium documented as active since December 2020, reflecting sustained inhouse architecture ownership. Operational scope centered on HR and people operations, with standardized data models and configurable workflows for onboarding, workforce changes, and offboarding within Oracle Cloud HCM.

| ODS2 | Legacy | ODS2 | Business Process Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2025 | 2025 |
In 2025, KPN Health contracted ODS2's cloud-native Business Support System, ODS2, to implement an end-to-end digital ID wallet and identity-onboarding solution for the Gedeelde Zorg Midden-Holland healthcare collective. The engagement is classified under Business Process Management and targets healthcare identity management in the Netherlands for approximately 25,000 professionals and 250,000 residents.
The implementation centers on CRM linked identity records, IAM integration for centralized identity and access management, and wallet management for credential issuance and lifecycle control. Configuration and automation workstreams focused on identity proofing, wallet provisioning, credential revocation, and role based access mapping to align provider and resident personas with operational processes.
Architecturally, the deployment uses a cloud-native Business Support System model with API driven interfaces to CRM and IAM endpoints to enable real time provisioning and synchronization of identity attributes. The design supports multitenant separation for the Gedeelde Zorg collective and event driven orchestration for credential exchange to consumer wallets, consistent with Business Process Management patterns for process automation and stateful workflow handling.
Governance and rollout emphasize standardized onboarding workflows, consent capture, audit trails, and identity governance to enforce clinical role separation and data minimization across participating sites. The KPN ODS2 Business Process Management deployment institutionalizes process orchestration for identity lifecycle events to support ongoing operational governance and compliance monitoring.
