In 2002, KT Korea deployed SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the core of a companywide Business & Information system Transformation program, establishing a single platform for management data. The deployment targeted ERP Financial capabilities to harmonize accounting, project costing, and asset-related financial processes across the expanding telecommunications business.
The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation centered on project management functionality that links investment tracking with enterprise asset management and accounting data, enabling end-to-end financial workflows. Configuration work emphasized centralized master data for finance and assets, standardized chart of accounts and financial posting rules, and process orchestration to support consolidated management reporting.
This effort replaced multiple prior systems, including Oracle E-Business Suite for finance, and integrated financial ledgers with enterprise asset management and operational systems to reduce data fragmentation across divisions. Operational coverage extended across KT Korea business units and divisional back offices, supporting converged telephony, broadband internet and mobile communication finance processes and enabling consistent transactional flows companywide.
Governance and rollout were driven by the Office of the CEO under the Business & Information system Transformation sponsorship, with Kim June-Keun, VP Business & Information System Transformation, leading IT infrastructure management and change activities. The implementation aimed to improve visibility into operational data for executive decision making and to enforce standardized financial controls through the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial platform.

The SAP HCM (HR) implementation at KT Korea emphasized core functional modules common to Core HR deployments, including personnel administration, organizational management, payroll processing capability, time management, and employee self service and manager self service workflows. Configuration focused on establishing HR master data, position and organizational structures, role based authorization, and workflow automation for routine HR transactions and approvals.

Governance activities centered on centralized HR data stewardship, standardized HR processes, staged rollout sequencing across functions, and segregation of duties controls to support ongoing HR operations under the Core HR platform.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Enterprise Asset Management | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, KT Korea deployed Oracle Enterprise Asset Management within its broader Oracle E Business Suite R12 environment. The deployment was recorded under the Enterprise Asset Management category and positioned asset lifecycle management as a core source of asset and cost data for corporate finance and operations.
The implementation of Oracle Enterprise Asset Management included configuration of asset register and lifecycle controls, work order and maintenance planning workflows, and asset cost accounting capabilities consistent with Enterprise Asset Management best practices. KT configured the application to feed asset valuation and depreciation data into financial close processes, and to support preventive maintenance scheduling and spare parts planning.
Oracle Enterprise Asset Management was integrated with multiple Oracle E Business Suite modules already in place, including Oracle Financials, Oracle Assets, Oracle Inventory Management, Oracle Purchasing, Oracle iProcurement, Oracle iSupplier Portal, Oracle Projects, and Oracle Property Manager. Operational coverage spanned finance, asset operations, supply chain, facilities management, and project accounting, enabling cross functional transaction flows between maintenance operations and subledger accounting.
KT engaged its internal IT division KTDS to manage the rollout and governance, leveraging the companys earlier R12 and Oracle Subledger Accounting work that had established a dual ledger IFRS reporting capability. That financial framework was explicitly designed for rules based accounting flexibility, and Oracle Enterprise Asset Management fed asset and cost records into the dual ledger environment to support reliable and transparent account closing and statutory reporting.
