In 2019, Kuwait Oil Company deployed AVEVA AR/VR Immersive Training Systems under the Learning and Development category. Kuwait Oil Company adopted AVEVA/SimSci EYESIM immersive virtual reality technology to create high-fidelity VR simulation training for control-room, field and maintenance operators.
The implementation centered on realistic 3D simulation scenarios for operator competency, HSE drills, and maintenance procedures, with scenario-based assessment and knowledge capture workflows designed to codify retiring workforce expertise. The AVEVA AR/VR Immersive Training Systems configuration emphasized immersive simulation, scenario orchestration, and competency assessment capabilities consistent with enterprise Learning and Development practice.
Deployment was localized to Kuwait training facilities and targeted operations, maintenance, and safety teams, covering control-room procedures, field operations, and maintenance interventions. Training content was aligned to operational tasks to support operator readiness and workforce knowledge transfer across those business functions.
Governance focused on competency based rollout and structured knowledge transfer to capture expertise from the retiring workforce. The deployment reportedly reduced accidents and unplanned shutdowns by improving readiness through realistic 3D simulation.

| Baker Hughes | Legacy | Bently Nevada System 1 | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Kuwait Oil Company implemented Bently Nevada System 1 as an Asset Performance Management solution to support condition monitoring of a low-pressure centrifugal compressor driven by a GE MS 5002 A gas turbine at Booster Station BS 150. The deployment focused on continuous acquisition and retention of vibration and process channels, with System 1 used for both short-term capture and long-term trend analysis to support maintenance decision making.
The implementation leveraged the condition monitoring capabilities of Bently Nevada System 1, including thrust position trending, vibration spectrum capture, and process parameter logging. System 1 recorded a gradually increasing compressor thrust position trend while thrust bearing temperatures and other vibration channels remained normal, enabling targeted diagnostic workflows around axial position and mechanical clearance.
Operational ownership and analysis were performed by the KOC Gas Maintenance Support and Reliability Team, who reviewed System 1 recordings during a preventive maintenance opportunity on the gas turbine. The operational scope was concentrated at Booster Station BS 150 and on the specific compressor train, with recorded data guiding on-site inspection sequencing and component assessment.
After analysis, KOC raised the issue with the OEM, which recommended periodic inspection and necessary replacement of the thrust bearing and its components. The documented outcome is that Bently Nevada System 1 provided actionable diagnostic evidence, revealing increased thrust float and wear in the inboard and outboard carrier assembly despite intact thrust pad babbitt surfaces, which supported targeted inspection and maintenance actions.
