In 2014 Land O’Lakes implemented Oracle WebCenter Accounts Payable as an AP Automation solution branded internally as Fusion to standardize invoice intake and approval. The implementation focused on replacing paper-driven steps with an automated invoice processing system, expediting reviews and approvals through workflow while reducing manual touchpoints in accounts payable.
The deployment architecture combined Oracle WebCenter Imaging with Business Process Management Suite 11g to deliver end-to-end invoice capture and workflow orchestration. Oracle WebCenter Accounts Payable was configured to use imaging for document capture, BPM-driven routing for multi-stage approvals, and metadata capture to drive exceptions and validation, delivering a unified AP Automation capability across the invoice lifecycle. Fishbowl Solutions served as the implementation partner to configure imaging and BPM components and to operationalize the solution.
Operationally the rollout centralized accounts payable and related finance workflows under a single automated process, enabling standardized review, approval, and exception handling across the enterprise AP function. Governance changes emphasized standardized invoice processing rules and BPM-managed workflows to enforce approval chains and to surface visibility into invoice status. According to the project documentation Land O’Lakes realized increased efficiency, reduced costs, and enhanced visibility into the overall invoice process following the Oracle WebCenter Accounts Payable deployment.

In 2020, Land O’Lakes implemented Starlims Abbott eScreen for BackGround Screening. The deployment centralized applicant background submission and drug-screen scheduling to support recruiting and HR intake workflows used for hires and relocations.
Starlims Abbott eScreen was configured to handle candidate intake, background data capture, case management, and drug test scheduling, with eScreen used directly to schedule drug testing. Recruiting coordinators continued to enter, monitor, and track candidate background activity in Excel and a third-party vendor database while feeding cases into the eScreen workflow.
Operational integration points included Workday HCM for processing hires and relocations, and calendar-driven interview coordination tied to Outlook, Teams, and Zoom. The implementation supported recruiting, HR operations, and legal reviews as the primary business functions consuming screening results.
Governance routed candidate cases for additional review by legal and management, and day-to-day operations relied on candidate outreach via email and phone to collect required background documentation. The Starlims Abbott eScreen BackGround Screening deployment structured end-to-end screening orchestration within Land O’Lakes recruiting and HR processes.

In 2020, Land O'Lakes implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing as part of a broader move to Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain and Manufacturing applications. The Manufacturing ERP deployment was executed concurrently across all three of the companys business units, dairy, animal feed and nutrition, and crop inputs, to create consistent process alignment and to support international growth plans.
The program included Oracle Cloud transportation management and global trade management capabilities alongside Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing. Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing was configured to centralize production planning, inventory controls, shop floor orchestration, and quality workflows, reflecting typical Manufacturing ERP functions and enabling standardized production and logistics workflows across units.
Prior to the cloud move, Land O'Lakes had operated Oracle Transportation Management on-premises for more than ten years and relied on Access databases, spreadsheets, and SharePoint sites for global trade management. The cloud implementation consolidated those manual and fragmented tools into a unified Oracle Cloud environment, extending logistics and trade management capabilities across the three business units and aligning operational data flows.
The simultaneous rollout required standardized governance and process restructuring to enforce common workflows and data governance across business units. Following the March 2020 go-live of Oracles cloud transportation management application, Land O'Lakes handled a peak-level demand spike that typically would have been managed by holding additional holiday inventory, illustrating increased agility from the cloud deployment.
