In 2017 LeasePlan implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP layer for ERP Financial. SAP S/4 HANA configuration concentrated on financial accounting and management accounting capabilities common to ERP Financial systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and period end close automation. The implementation included master data rationalization for the chart of accounts and fiscal settings to enable unified transactional posting and the real time ledger capabilities of SAP S/4 HANA.
Integration scope emphasized transactional posting interfaces and reporting extracts to preserve finance data integrity inside SAP S/4 HANA, with touchpoints defined to support operational finance workflows. Operational coverage centered on LeasePlan Nederland finance and accounting functions in the Amsterdam area, aligning treasury and compliance workflows to the new ERP Financial platform and positioning SAP S/4 HANA as the central transactional system for local financial processing.
Governance was structured around a dedicated programme management approach, with the programme manager role active from July 2017 to September 2018, implementing sprint based workstreams, release gates and master data governance to control cutover and configuration change. Process redesign focused on standardizing finance workflows and establishing data ownership and change control within finance to support the SAP S/4 HANA deployment.

LeasePlan instrumented its public careers pages so job search and application submission on the website feed directly into the Workday ATS, enabling seamless application intake and recruiter routing. The integration of the careers site with Workday Recruiting supports vacancy publication, automated candidate acknowledgment, and centralized candidate records for review and screening.
Governance and operating processes were adjusted to reflect the system's workflow model, with role based hiring permissions, requisition approval paths, and audit oriented candidate status histories configured inside Workday Recruiting. These configurations established a single system of record for hiring activity and clarified recruiter and hiring manager responsibilities within LeasePlan's HR operations.

Reported outcomes from the program include more than 10X faster time to market for new capabilities, improved decision-making with AI-powered insights, streamlined operations through automation, and improved scalability afforded by the Pega Constellation UI.
