| Workday | Legacy | Workday Financial Management | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2023 | 2023 |
In 2023 Lifespan selected Workday Financial Management as part of a multi-application deployment that also included Workday Human Capital Management and Workday Adaptive Planning, aligning the organization with an ERP Financial solution for the office of the CFO. The decision positions Workday Financial Management at the center of Lifespan’s cloud-based finance architecture, with explicit intent to unify financial, workforce, and operational data across the organization.
Workday Financial Management was implemented to centralize core financial capabilities typical of an ERP Financial system, including general ledger consolidation, accounts payable and receivable workflows, and enterprise financial reporting, while Workday Adaptive Planning was configured to support integrated budgeting and forecasting. Workday Human Capital Management supplies the workforce and payroll data streams used in planning and cost allocation, creating a contiguous data model across finance and HR.
The deployment emphasizes native integration between Workday Financial Management, Workday HCM, and Workday Adaptive Planning to create a single cloud-based source of truth for financial and workforce information. Operational scope centers on finance and HR functions within the healthcare organization, with the integrated stack intended to streamline cross-functional planning and transactional processing.
Governance and process changes focus on enabling the CFO office to automate financial processes and consolidate planning and reporting workflows, leveraging Workday’s cloud services and Workday AI capabilities noted in the vendor announcement to support faster, data-driven decisions. Lifespan’s implementation reflects a move to unify financial management, workforce data, and enterprise planning under Workday Financial Management in the ERP Financial category.

| Infor | Legacy | Infor Global HR Benefits Administration | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2013 | 2014 |
In 2013, Lifespan implemented Infor Global HR Benefits Administration as part of an enterprise Infor Cloud Suite 11 initiative to provision centralized Benefits Administration and global human resources capabilities for over 15,000 active employees. The engagement positioned Infor Global HR Benefits Administration as the core HR application for workforce lifecycle events, talent acquisition intake, and benefits eligibility management across the health system.
The implementation included detailed configuration of Human Resource and Talent Acquisition forms using Infor Rich Client v11, covering Hire, Re-Hire, Change Pay Rate, Position Update, Promote, and Transfer workflows for both TA and Non-TA processes. Security design and ongoing maintenance were delivered through the Lawson Security Application and Lawson Security Administrator, creating security roles, security rules, actor groups, context properties, ISS Synchronization, and new user setup to enforce role based access and separation of duties.
Integration work focused on data exchange with payroll and reporting stacks, building interfaces to the existing ADP Payroll system using SQL Server Management Studio and SQL Server 2016 for ETL and transactional transfers. Reporting and analytics were implemented using the Infor reporting tool alongside SQL Server based reports, and the Employee Self Service portal was redesigned using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS while candidate external and internal job boards were modified to support recruitment flows.
Program governance emphasized change request management, enterprise design adherence, and documentation driven rollout. The team produced step by step process documentation, training class materials, User Derived Fields created with LPL, Use Case diagrams to explain functional workflows, system design and test plan templates, and executed integrated system testing and user acceptance testing to validate recruitment, benefits, and compensation workflows and to operationalize the new Infor Global HR Benefits Administration environment.

| Epic Systems | Legacy | EpicCare Ambulatory | Electronic Health Record | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Lifespan implemented EpicCare Ambulatory as its Electronic Health Record for outpatient clinical operations, explicitly aligning the application to ambulatory clinical workflows and clinician documentation needs. The deployment emphasized clinician-facing workflows and training continuity, supported by staff certified in both Ambulatory and Phoenix modules.
Configuration focused on standard EpicCare Ambulatory capabilities including clinical charting, order entry, e-prescribing, scheduling, and ambulatory documentation templates, with customization to support role based clinical documentation and encounter workflows. The implementation included configuration of clinical decision support and ambulatory scheduling logic consistent with Electronic Health Record best practices for outpatient care.
Operational coverage targeted ambulatory clinical departments and associated clinical operations, with Phoenix competency noted for revenue cycle and ambulatory billing adjacent activities. Training and enablement were central to rollout, evidenced by long term principal trainer roles that designed, delivered, and evaluated curricula to assess employee skills in electronic records technology and business operations.
Governance was anchored in a training driven rollout model, combining curriculum development, employee skills assessments, and workflow consultation to align process changes with system configuration. The program included ongoing facilitation of training assessments and advisement on project implementation related to technology training and process workflow, creating a structured governance loop between clinical teams and application configuration owners.
