In 2019, LIFT implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to centralize finance and accounting operations. The implementation positioned Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the organizations ERP Financial platform supporting core bookkeeping and transactional controls across LIFTs multi-city footprint in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C.
The deployment focused on traditional ERP Financial capabilities, configured to support accounts payable processing, vendor invoice workflows, petty cash controls, bank transaction monitoring and reconciliation, and general ledger management. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was used to capture journal entries, prepaid and accrual accounting, and month-end and year-end close tasks, aligning system configuration with nonprofit GAAP oriented processes described by the finance team.
Operational integrations emphasized finance adjacency rather than third party vendor substitution, with the system instrumented to receive payroll journal entries from Talent and Culture and to record deposit and gift tracking information coordinated with the development team. The solution supported day to day accounts payable approvals and payment setup for ACH, wire, and occasional check disbursements, enabling the Staff Accountant and Finance and Accounting Director to maintain consistent posting and reconciliation workflows across sites.
Governance and process changes accompanied the rollout, including standardized GL account reconciliations, strengthened internal control checklists for audit preparation, and centralized document management for vendor and deposit records. The Finance and Operations Team formalized month end and year end procedures, and the Staff Accountant role explicitly supported continuous process improvement efforts within the ERP Financial environment to streamline accounting operations and internal controls.

In 2019, LIFT implemented Greenhouse ATS as its Applicant Tracking System. The Greenhouse ATS implementation is used as the primary ATS on LIFT's website to publish job listings and capture candidate applications, centralizing recruiting activity for the organization's HR and hiring managers. LIFT Greenhouse ATS Applicant Tracking System supports the non profit's talent acquisition workflows across recruiting, screening, and interview orchestration.
Configuration focuses on standard Applicant Tracking System capabilities including job posting and publishing to the embedded career site, candidate pipeline management, interview scheduling and scorecards, and offer workflow tracking. The deployment emphasizes career site integration with LIFT's public website to ensure application capture flows directly into Greenhouse ATS, and it establishes centralized candidate records and stage-based pipelines for hiring teams. Governance aligns around HR and hiring manager processes for interview orchestration and pipeline ownership, enabling consistent candidate evaluation and record keeping.
