In 2020, Lloyds Pharmacy began preparations to adopt SAP S/4 HANA as part of a McKesson UK business transformation programme. Lloyds Pharmacy engaged SAP S/4 HANA in the ERP Financial category to centralize wholesale and retail procurement and inventory workflows across the AAH and LloydsPharmacy networks.
The SAP S/4 HANA implementation emphasizes Forecasting & Replenishment and procurement controls, with forecast-driven replenishment designed to change buying volumes and patterns to better align with customer demand. Functional configurations include mandatory purchase order processing, goods receipt matching, and invoice reconciliation, with each purchase order assigned a unique 10-digit identifier to improve traceability.
Operational rollout is staged, with the Stoke Distribution Centre targeted for a June 2021 launch and the remainder of the AAH and LloydsPharmacy networks scheduled for August 2021, reflecting a hub first distribution cutover. Inbound delivery and goods receipt activities are integrated into the SAP S/4 HANA transaction flows, and all Lloyds Pharmacy store orders are routed through SAP S/4 HANA rather than via fax or telephone, consolidating order capture into a single ERP stream.
Governance and workflow changes are focused on centralized procurement and system driven claims. Purchase order matching rules are enforced to enable prompt payment, customer service is centralized through unified wholesale and retail procurement processes, and vendor rebates, fees and charge claims are system generated from purchasing data to streamline processing.

| MHR (formerly MidlandHR) | Legacy | MHR iTrent HR | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Lloyds Pharmacy implemented MHR iTrent HR as its Core HR platform. The program encompassed planning, design, roll-out and development of an integrated HR and Payroll Information System, including full support and transition from the Bupa hosted PeopleSoft platform and Northgate payroll solution to deliver an ESS and MSS cloud based solution.
MHR iTrent HR was configured to centralize core HR records, to support payroll information handling, and to enable employee self service and manager self service workflows. Functional modules and capabilities implemented aligned with Core HR expectations, including HR data management, payroll interface processing, and self service transaction automation for employees and managers.
Integrations were explicitly scoped to support coexistence and phased handover with the Bupa hosted PeopleSoft environment and the Northgate payroll solution during transition, enabling continuity of payroll runs while records were migrated into the cloud based iTrent environment. Operational coverage targeted HR and payroll functions across Lloyds Pharmacy in the United Kingdom, with integration touch points focused on payroll feeds and HR master data synchronization.
Governance for the roll-out emphasized detailed planning, staged cutover sequencing, and data migration validation, coupled with post go live support processes to stabilize the ESS and MSS cloud based service. Change control and workflow restructuring centered on consolidating HR administration and payroll processes into the MHR iTrent HR system, with structured handover and support procedures to maintain operational continuity.

In 2015 Lloyds Pharmacy implemented IFS Enterprise Upstream (formerly P2 Enterprise Upstream) as part of an Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP deployment that ran alongside a major HRIS and payroll stabilization program. The program focused operationally on Retail, Supply Chain, and Healthcare businesses and addressed payroll for 4,000 colleagues spread across seven payrolls, four monthly paid and three weekly paid.
The IFS Enterprise Upstream implementation was configured to support core upstream ERP capabilities including asset and maintenance planning, procurement and financial ledger workflows, and supply chain transactional processes consistent with Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP functionality. Configuration work included detailed blueprinting and staged testing cycles to validate transactional flows and financial postings prior to cutover.
The ERP rollout ran in parallel with HRIS activities that included Kronos time and attendance, iTrent Manager Self Service, and Employee Self Service, and with a phased payroll program that brought outsourced payroll for the Supply Chain from Resourcelink into iTrent. Data migration and parallel payroll runs were executed as part of the wider program to ensure continuity, and discovery, unit testing and user acceptance testing were completed for related HR and payroll components.
Governance was driven through a structured project team and steering committee, with regular stakeholder engagement across HR business partners, Finance, Reward, area managers, shared services and directors. A disaster recovery plan and a stabilization phase were put in place, the project organized response teams to handle pay queries, and a handover to BAU payroll was planned alongside recruitment and training of a BAU payroll team, enabling the introduction of Employee Self Service into the Supply Chain business. The disaster recovery plan explicitly reduced payroll errors from over 52 percent to less than 1 percent over a three month period.
