In 2022, Lucid Motors migrated its SAP ERP ECC 6.0 environment to SAP S/4 HANA to centralize transactional finance and core master data as part of an ERP Financial program. The SAP S/4 HANA implementation was positioned to support cross functional business processes and coordinate core business data across Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Finance, HR, and Engineering.
Configuration emphasis for SAP S/4 HANA included Product Master data, Procurement, Inventory Management and Materials Management modules together with core financials aligned to the ERP Financial category. Workstreams documented functional specifications and process mapping, and the program included active support for integration testing and user acceptance testing to validate configured finance and supply chain workflows.
EDI capabilities were integrated with SAP S/4 HANA to manage trading partner communications, with mappings and transport layers covering ANSI X12, EDIFACT and XML payload formats and AS2, FTP and VAN connectivity. Functional modules configured include Case Management, Service Write Up, Service Dispatch, Perform Service, Complete Service and Delivery Prep, Over the Counter Part Sales, Delivery of Serviced Vehicle, Approved Body Shop Part Sales, Pre Delivery Inspections, and Kronos Workflow and Payroll support, with automation applied to dispatch and service completion workflows.
The Salesforce Field Service implementation was integrated with Lucid’s web, mobile and in vehicle experiences, payment services, Lucid’s service tool and JIRA, using web to case integration and SMS communications to improve customer interactions. Localization work was included to support planned international rollouts for Canada, Europe and Saudi Arabia, extending the operational coverage beyond the United States.
Governance and operationalization centered on phased releases, configured Salesforce workflow governance, and Service Center process enhancements to align field technician dispatch and delivery workflows. The engagement produced implemented best in class service and Field Service Management support for Lucid Motors customers, with explicit outcomes noted including web to case integration and SMS communication with customers.
