In 2006, Magni Coatings selected ECI Deacom ERP to standardize core business processes across its operations. Magni Coatings is an ISO 9000 certified manufacturer of protective coating systems, and the implementation was scoped to link its corporate office in Birmingham, MI with sites in Detroit, MI, Independence, KY, and Germany.
The ECI Deacom ERP System was configured as a Manufacturing ERP to support integrated accounting, sales, purchasing, and inventory control, together with regulatory reporting and lab management. Functional modules implemented included quality control, batch formulation, and production scheduling to reflect process manufacturing workflows and to unify shop floor and laboratory data with finance and sales records.
Deployment architecture was designed as a single secure system to seamlessly unite plant level formulation and scheduling with corporate transaction processing and reporting, supporting cross functional collaboration between sales, research, and manufacturing. The Deacom solution was selected over eight competing vendors based on its process manufacturing focus and functional fit for coatings production.
Governance and rollout were managed internally with a target to achieve full implementation by March 2007, and the scope covered security sensitive accounting, regulatory reporting, lab management, and production operations. Magni Software Manager Michael Agrusso stated that the ECI Deacom ERP would allow the company to more efficiently and cost effectively extend its customers product life.
