In 2012, Manipal Hospitals implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as an ERP Financial system to centralize financial accounting and procurement processes across its hospital network. The deployment established an SAP R/3 ECC.6.0 environment used for core FI and MM transaction processing across Manipal Hospitals, which operates 15 hospitals and three primary clinics across six states.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was configured to support Financial Accounting and Materials Management workflows, with targeted ABAP development delivering Smart Forms for Purchase Order, Purchase Return, GST Invoice and Sales Invoice. Customizations included GST implementation components, validations in ME21N ME22N ME23N using BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST to enforce info record, net price and store code checks, and BAPI driven invoice automation through BAPI_INCOMINGINVOICE_CREATE. Data onboarding and mass maintenance used BDC and LSMW for material master creation and extension, vendor and customer mass upload and payment clearing via F44 and F32, and automated vendor payment clearing uploads using F 58.
The implementation integrated SAP with external procurement and middleware systems, automating PO creation in SAP via BAPI and returning PO information to Ariba, and pushing GRN and material master data out through the PI interface to third party tools. MIGO screen enhancements were developed using MB_MIGO_BADI to add an additional tab and to support GRN Held and post process customizations with automatic pushes to PI. Operational coverage included hospital rollout projects and a new hospital implementation in Delhi, reflecting multi-site adoption across the network.
Operational governance was delivered through technical specification design reviews, development, debugging, unit testing and documentation by the SAP ABAP team. Workflow and control changes included MIRO Approval Park and Post customizations, balance transfer programs for customer vendor and GL balances, FI vendor and customer ageing reports with automated email triggers, and ongoing issue resolution and testing as part of rollout and steady state support.

In 2020 Manipal Hospitals deployed Zoom to extend its Audio Video and Web Conferencing capabilities, embedding Zoom on the corporate website to enable web-based meeting access for external participants. The implementation is associated with the hospital network and the public site source indicates Zoom is exposed for browser joins and session entry from the Manipal Hospitals website.
The deployment focused on core Zoom functional modules such as video meetings, webinar hosting, screen sharing, and session recording, configured to support clinician patient sessions and internal administrative meetings. Zoom was provisioned to allow direct join flows from the website, and standard conferencing features were used to orchestrate scheduled clinical and nonclinical sessions.
Operational coverage included clinical departments and corporate functions across the hospital network, with use cases aligned to remote consultations, provider collaboration, and virtual administrative workflows. The deployment pattern reflects typical Audio Video and Web Conferencing usage in healthcare, combining patient facing access via the website with internal collaboration scenarios.
Governance and operational controls were implemented through centralized account provisioning and role based access controls, with scheduling and public embedding managed by the hospital IT and digital teams. Session configuration and access management were structured to align conferencing workflows with clinical scheduling and administrative processes.
