In 2019 Maximus UK implemented SAP Business ByDesign as its ERP Financial application to centralize purchase-to-pay and transactional finance workflows. The deployment was positioned to support a Finance Transactional Team supervisor role responsible for purchase orders, accounts payable, corporate credit cards and treasury during an organizational transformation period.
SAP Business ByDesign was configured to support core procure-to-pay processes, supplier invoice processing, corporate card transaction posting and banking payment runs, with explicit emphasis on purchase ordering, accounts payable automation, treasury posting and KPI reporting. Configuration work focused on standardizing operating procedures, establishing approval workflows for supplier payments and embedding reconciliation and control capabilities consistent with ERP Financial functional best practices.
Integrations were implemented to connect SAP Business ByDesign with banking platforms and supplier payment channels to enable weekly supplier payment runs and banking transaction processing, and to provide a single point of transactional data for supplier and bank query escalation. Operational coverage centered on a team of six transactional finance administrators, with role responsibilities split between the Enderby LE19 Leicester site and remote work, reflecting a hybrid operational model for transaction processing and escalation.
Governance and process transformation accompanied the technical rollout, with ownership of KPI tracking, governance and control activities assigned to the Finance Transactional Team Supervisor. The supervisor role included hands-on transactional processing, oversight of supplier payment runs and banking, stakeholder management for internal and external queries, and leading system changes, process improvement initiatives and standardization of working practices within the ERP Financial environment.
