Cisco Systems Legacy Cisco NGFW Next Generation Firewall CyberSecurity n/a 2019 2019
In 2019 Mediapro deployed Cisco NGFW as its primary perimeter and internal firewall platform, selecting Cisco Next Generation Firewall technology from Cisco Systems. The deployment was executed as part of a broader Cisco security stack that explicitly included Cisco Advanced Malware Protection, Cisco Umbrella, and Cisco Email Security, with the Cisco NGFW providing the central enforcement point for network traffic control. The Cisco NGFW implementation emphasized standard Next Generation Firewall capabilities including stateful packet inspection, intrusion prevention, application visibility and control, URL and DNS filtering, and TLS inspection to support media production workflows and corporate traffic. Configuration workstreams focused on segmentation rulesets, application-aware policies, and centralized policy templates to ensure consistent enforcement across edge and data center gateways. Integrations were implemented with Cisco Advanced Malware Protection to feed file and endpoint telemetry into network prevention workflows, with Cisco Umbrella to extend DNS-layer security and web filtering, and with Cisco Email Security to align email threat indicators with network policy. Telemetry from the Cisco NGFW was routed to centralized security monitoring to enable correlated alerts, threat enrichment, and operational workflows within network and security operations. Governance for the Cisco NGFW rollout centered on staged, phased implementation managed by network and security operations teams, with change control and policy review cycles established to tune application rules and intrusion signatures. Operational scope covered enterprise firewall enforcement across Mediapro environments, and the project formalized firewall rule governance and incident escalation pathways without reference to a named implementation partner.
