| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Mediq implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial platform to establish a centralized financial backbone for the Benelux transformation program. The program was anchored in Utrecht within Mediq Benelux and organized around an End-to-End operations agenda driven by a dedicated Program Manager E2E, with explicit responsibility for process optimization and operational execution.
The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment focused on core ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting, configured to support end to end financial and operational workflows. Configuration work emphasized mapped business processes at multiple levels, and the program required hands on process definition, operating model translation, and practical implementation to demonstrate working process improvements.
Integrations were scoped to support customer facing flows and automated exchanges, with explicit preference for connecting SAP CRM and EDI channels to the ERP Financial system for master data alignment and electronic transaction exchange. These integration touch points were positioned to enable coordinated order to cash and supplier interactions while keeping SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the primary financial system of record.
Governance design and organizational change were central to the rollout, with the Program Manager charged to define and embed a Business Process Organization that codified roles and responsibilities, established governance between the BPO and the wider organization, and instituted a continuous improvement capability. Process mapping, governance agreements, and a show by doing implementation approach were core to embedding the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 supported processes into day to day operations across the transformation team and impacted business functions such as operations and customer service.
