In 2014 MEFIC Capital implemented SS&C Advent Portfolio Exchange as a core platform for Portfolio and Investment Management, deploying APX, Moxy, TradeX and the Advent rules manager within a defined budget and timeline. The SS&C Advent Portfolio Exchange deployment was positioned to support portfolio accounting, trade lifecycle processing and rules based reconciliation workflows central to investment operations.
The program included infrastructure and continuity architecture components, with a cost effective disaster recovery site implemented to comply with CMA guidelines and a fully automated data center environment. MEFIC virtualized its entire server estate, implemented a full fledged automated backup solution and executed business continuity planning and testing per CMA guidelines, with two CMA inspections overseen as part of the rollout.
Beyond core investment systems, MEFIC implemented payroll capabilities using Paysoft, an employee service portal and an online client portal plus an Advent Asset Management System, extending operational coverage to HR, payroll administration, client services and investment operations. These additional systems were folded into IT operations and asset management processes to centralize service delivery and support user facing and back office workflows.
Functionally the Advent suite delivery emphasized portfolio and trade accounting via APX, front to back trade processing through TradeX, portfolio management and reporting via Moxy and automated business rules enforcement through the rules manager. The implementation focused on configuration of these modules to instrument standard portfolio and investment management workflows, including pricing, reconciliation and compliance rule automation.
Governance for the program included formal IT strategy development to align technology with MEFIC business objectives, preparation and management of the IT budget with minimal variance and the formulation and enhancement of IT policies and procedures. Ongoing technology evaluation and research were part of the operating cadence to support maintenance of SS&C Advent Portfolio Exchange and adjacent systems under CMA regulatory requirements.

Configuration centered on category standard modules, including real time transaction monitoring, customer screening and sanctions filtering, automated alert generation and prioritization, risk scoring, and an integrated case management workspace for workflow orchestration and analyst review. The Mozn FOCAL Platform was configured with rule tuning and risk scoring to support consistent triage processes, data enrichment streams for investigative context, and persistent audit trails to support regulatory recordkeeping.
Operational impact focused on compliance, risk, and operations functions, with role based approvals, analyst queues, and supervisory review workflows instituted to formalize case intake and investigation procedures. Governance work included establishing tuning cycles for detection logic and maintaining immutable logs inside the Mozn FOCAL Platform to satisfy oversight requirements, and the implementation is listed publicly as part of MEFIC Capital’s AML, Fraud and Compliance tooling.
