In 2024, Mercury NZ implemented Workday Accounts Payable as an AP Automation initiative. The engagement was executed under a hybrid managed model from September 2024 to June 2025 in Auckland, New Zealand, delivered in partnership with Accenture.
Workday Accounts Payable was configured to handle high volume invoice processing and reconciliations, leveraging transaction processing and reconciliation capabilities aligned with AP Automation best practices. The configuration emphasized automated invoice matching, configurable approval workflows, and scheduled payment runs to support timely and accurate payment execution.
The implementation focused on the accounts payable function and close collaboration with Mercury NZ's finance team, providing day to day processing and reconciliations within the finance organization. Governance work formalized payment workflows, segregation of duties in approval paths, and controls to ensure compliance with tax regulations, company policies, and financial reporting standards. Process redesign included standardized invoice intake, reconciliation procedures, and documented escalation paths to support auditability and month end reporting.

In 2024, Mercury NZ initiated a discovery engagement for a potential Workday HCM deployment in the Core HR category. The effort was organized to define target state HR data models, organizational hierarchies, and core employee lifecycle workflows that would form the foundation of a centralized Core HR platform.
During April to June 2024 EvokeHR contracted an HR Business Analyst to support Mercury NZ's discovery phase, reporting to the Director and the business owner and coordinating with Accenture as the implementation partner. Workstreams in the discovery covered requirement gathering and process mapping, security and role design, and a configuration roadmap for Workday HCM that addressed workforce directory, position management, onboarding intake, absence tracking, and HR case management as standard Core HR capabilities.
Governance for the engagement was business-led with director-level sponsorship and contractor execution from EvokeHR, producing business requirements, target process designs, and a phased configuration blueprint for Workday HCM. The narrative clarifies the Mercury NZ Workday HCM Core HR relationship and captures HR function requirements that prepare the organization for subsequent design and deployment phases.
