In 2013, Metcash implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its core ERP Financial platform. The initiative included a targeted migration from SAP to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations and established the application as the primary finance system for the group.
The deployment emphasized finance functional capabilities, driven by Finance functional consultancy from design through long term support. Configuration focus included general ledger control and reconciliation workflows, accounts payable and receivable processing, and cash control processes, with automation for GL account reconciliation incorporated into operational procedures.

Governance and operations were structured around a sustained Finance functional consultant model, with personnel remaining in role from 2013 through 2022 to manage configuration, AssureNET reconciliation support, and JIRA administration. Service delivery management practices were embedded to coordinate ongoing support and system change, aligning finance process ownership with the ERP Financial platform.
