| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2008 | 2008 |
In 2008 Metrovacesa upgraded to SAP ERP ECC 6.0. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 is deployed as the company core ERP Financial platform supporting corporate finance and operational accounting across its real estate and construction activities.
The implementation sits within a broader SAP stack that includes SAP BW and SAP BusinessObjects for reporting and analytics. SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Premium was deployed in 2008 to provide a reporting layer and self-service analysis, with around 130 indicators published via BusinessObjects and SAP BusinessObjects WebI integrated into the company SAP Portal for user access. The environment also references satellite systems explicitly used for finance and project control, including the TAyA treasury system and custom .Net applications for construction project control.
Architecturally SAP ERP ECC 6.0 runs on IBM pSeries servers under AIX and uses Oracle as the primary database, while the BI and reporting tier for BusinessObjects was hosted on IBM hardware running Windows Server 2003 with SQL Server 2005. The company has centralized hosting at Telvent facilities in Alcobendas under an outsourcing contract in place since 2004, and in recent years the infrastructure direction has trended toward IBM blade servers and virtualization to increase flexibility. Users access transactional and reporting capabilities through the SAP Portal, which presents ECC and BusinessObjects outputs to business analysts and managers.
Governance and rollout were coordinated alongside BI and CRM initiatives, with external advisors involved in tool selection and deployment. Accenture provided advisory input during selection, Indra and other consultancies participated in the vendor competition, and Altim executed the BusinessObjects implementation leveraging its BI support role. The BusinessObjects deployment faced administrative and licensing integration challenges with SAP, but delivered explicit operational outcomes reported by the company, including faster report development, greater report flexibility, and expanded self-service analysis for users, while about 20 percent of indicators are focused on management reporting and dashboards.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Real Estate (RE) | Real Estate Property Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2008 | 2008 |
In 2008, metrovacesa upgraded to SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Real Estate (RE) as a targeted implementation within the Real Estate Property Management category, moving from an SAP R/3 4.6C release into the ERP 2005 ECC 6.0 technical stack. The engagement was oriented on supporting core property management and transactional posting workflows while aligning the application footprint with corporate finance and controlling needs.
The implementation included SAP Classic Real Estate as the functional core, with explicit configuration and extensions touching FI, TR-CM and CO modules. Project activities documented a high number of critical developments in the Real Estate area, with the RE team carrying technical upgrade responsibilities, and formal analyze and testing cycles covering both SAP RE standard processes and non-standard custom developments.
Operational scope extended beyond Spain with a MEDEA roll-out project for two new companies in France, performing data model analysis for French entities and defining localization specifications to meet French business processes and legal requirements. The French data model and business processes were integrated into metrovacesa Spain’s internal SAP data model and business process framework as part of the rollout.
Governance emphasis centered on release upgrade controls, functional and integration testing, and a post go-live support regimen to resolve issues detected after cutover. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Real Estate (RE) deployment impacted Real Estate operations, Finance, Controlling and Cash Management business functions, and required coordinated testing, localization specification workstreams, and sustained application support after go-live.
