| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, MicroVention implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform, migrating from SAP ERP ECC 6.0. The S/4 HANA 1909 deployment targeted plant maintenance and materials management use cases for MicroVention manufacturing sites in Aliso Viejo and Tustin in the United States.
The implementation centered on SAP EAM and MM functional areas, mapping preventive maintenance, breakdown, calibration and shutdown processes into SAP S/4 HANA. Work included defining PM master data such as equipment master, functional locations, work centers, task lists and measuring points, and MM master data including material master, vendor master, info records and service master. Configuration extended to MM organizational elements, establishing a purchasing organization and storage locations to manage spare parts and external services.
Operational workflows captured spare parts inventory management through reorder point planning and inventory posting, vendor selection and external procurement processes, service contract handling and split valuation for refurbishment flows. Ongoing production support covered Plant Maintenance and Calibration functionality, with the Master Data team and PM business owners jointly maintaining transactional and master data to sustain operational readiness.
Governance and rollout relied on workshops, hands on training sessions and a structured functional design to technical handoff model. Functional design documents, test scripts and recorded test results were managed in ALM for approvals prior to deployment to PRD, and the project partnered with SAP security to resolve authorization issues and provide recommendations for an optimal security setup for ongoing project requirements.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA - Asset Management | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021 MicroVention implemented SAP S/4 HANA - Asset Management to formalize Enterprise Asset Management for its US manufacturing sites. The engagement began in June 2021 and targeted plant maintenance and calibration processes for the Aliso Viejo and Tustin plants, aligning SAP S/4 HANA - Asset Management with operational requirements for maintenance, calibration, and shutdown planning.
The implementation used SAP S/4 HANA 1909 functional patterns for Plant Maintenance, mapping Preventive, Breakdown, Calibration and Shutdown processes into system workflows. Configuration and master data work included PM master data such as equipment master records, functional locations, work centers, task lists and measuring points, and MM master data including material master, vendor master, info records and service master. MM organizational elements were configured for the maintenance organization, specifically purchasing organization and storage location constructs to manage spare parts and external services.
Operational processes implemented covered spare parts inventory management with reorder point planning and inventory posting, vendor selection and external procurement workflows, service contract handling and split valuation to support refurbishment processes. Functional design artifacts were produced to translate business requirements into technical specifications, and test scripts were developed and executed with results recorded in ALM for approvals and production deployment.
Governance and rollout emphasized close collaboration with business process owners and super users through workshops and training sessions, ongoing production support for Plant Maintenance and Calibration functionality, and coordination with the SAP security team to resolve authorizations and recommend security configurations. The program included end to end testing, functional design documentation and structured change deployment processes to ensure SAP S/4 HANA - Asset Management supported maintenance, procurement and calibration business functions at the targeted US plants.
