| Tungsten Automation | Legacy | Tungsten Transact (formerly Ephesoft Transact) | Intelligent Document Processing | Content Management | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Mountain West Financial implemented Tungsten Transact (formerly Ephesoft Transact) for Intelligent Document Processing. The deployment addressed a document intake challenge where mortgage loan packages averaged 700 pages, annual paperwork exceeded 4 million pages, and staff needed to correctly identify and index more than 225 distinct document types.
The implementation focused on capture, classification and extraction capabilities, with Tungsten Transact configured for document classification, OCR based data extraction, automated indexing, batch ingestion and human validation workflows. Classifier training and rules based indexing were applied to reduce manual tagging, and validation queues routed ambiguous pages to staff for review.
Operational scope centered on mortgage operations and loan processing workflows, with IT coordinating the rollout to processing teams responsible for intake, indexing and compliance preparation. The solution was embedded into document capture and workflow orchestration functions to streamline downstream processing and records retrieval across the organization.
Governance was led by Information Technology Coordinator Susan Hartsock who evaluated capture technology options and directed configuration to meet regulatory and operational requirements. The project was explicitly aimed at simplifying overall workflow and helping staff handle large loan packages that were previously costing time and money by shifting identification and indexing tasks from manual effort to automated capture processes.
