In 2015, MultiPlan implemented Oracle E-Business Suite R12 as its ERP Financial application to formalize finance, procurement, inventory and manufacturing-adjacent processes. The engagement documented here reflects a June 2015 to June 2016 functional consulting engagement based in Gaithersburg, MD that focused on configuring Oracle E-Business Suite for operational finance and production support.
The implementation covered explicit module configuration for Order Management, Shipping, Purchasing, Budget Reconciliation, Inventory, Receivables Account and Payables, alongside Oracle Process Manufacturing related setups referenced as OPM Inventory. Functional workstreams included organization setups for OPM Inventory, cycle counting configuration in Inventory, OPM item and recipe configuration, formula and phantom formula validation, routing setups, and tactical raw material planning and batch allocation for production runs.
Operational coverage extended to finance, procurement, inventory control, manufacturing and quality functions, with the Oracle E-Business Suite integrated into month end closing workflows and batch reconciliation sequences. The consultant interfaced with manufacturing, quality and factory personnel, worked with technical developers and database administrators to resolve system issues, and provided Level 1 support and post production troubleshooting in live production scenarios.
Governance activities included preparing AS IS and TO BE process documentation, mapping business requirements to Oracle prerequisites, identifying functional gaps, and creating test scenarios and test scripts to validate system behavior. The engagement emphasized user enablement through training and documentation, efforts to minimize customization by identifying in-suite synergies, and ongoing maintenance practices to sustain reconciliations and production close tasks.
Day to day responsibilities recorded in the engagement included resolving production issues, providing Level 1 user support, ensuring timely reconciliation of batches in OPM, and maintaining up-to-date training and documentation materials. Oracle E-Business Suite served as the central ERP Financial application supporting finance, procurement, inventory and manufacturing operations during the engagement period.
