In 2015 Muntons implemented SAP BusinessObjects as part of the SAP S/4 HANA reporting landscape. The SAP BusinessObjects deployment addressed Analytics and BI requirements and provided a unified reporting layer to support Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Procurement, Compliance, and Planning business functions.
The implementation included the design and implementation of Reporting Data Cubes within the new S/4 HANA environment, plus the creation of interactive reports and dashboards in SAP BusinessObjects. Operational capabilities implemented comprised automated data loads into the BI layer, procedures for clearing and manual loading of cube data when required, and direct query and interrogation of the SAP back end for ad hoc analysis.
Integrations were executed between SAP BusinessObjects and the SAP S/4 HANA system, and with the in-house OCR logistics and finance SQL Server database that feeds planning and invoicing data into the BI landscape. Reporting coverage extended across Sales, Procurement, Finance, Compliance, Planning and Logistics, with periodic production of management reports for all tiers of the organization.
Governance and operational ownership rested with the Supply Chain Systems Manager and the FP&A reporting team, who managed master data creation for Materials, Customers and Vendors in SAP ECC 6.0 and ongoing administration of the S/4 HANA environment. The team managed user training, automated load schedules, ongoing report development and worked alongside Grant Thornton on a Business Process Improvement project to identify KPI data points across Production, Supply Chain and Finance, with continued responsibility for production and development of BusinessObjects reports.
