SAP Legacy SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP Financial Management oXya, a Hitachi Group company. 2021 2021
In 2021, NaTran (ex GRTgaz) implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial solution. The program combined a greenfield S/4HANA deployment on AWS with a brownfield migration of the computerized maintenance management system CMMS, and pursued a return to SAP standard for core finance, management and purchasing processes. The implementation installed SAP S/4 HANA alongside new modules and cloud services, including extended warehouse management eWM, quality management QM, and SAP SaaS finance capabilities SAC Planning and AFC. Additional SAP components cited in the program included BTP, SAPRouter, Solution Manager, WebDispatcher, Content Server and GRC, while the CMMS was preserved and migrated in brownfield mode with its customizations. Architecturally the solution was hosted on an AWS landing zone, with oXya responsible for building and installing SAP systems to GRTgaz design and security principles. Integration work included embedding infrastructure as code into GRTgaz’s software factory for rapid environment provisioning, SSL certificate management via AWS Certificate Manager, and API exposure by connecting the S/4HANA back-end to Apigee through AWS API Gateway. The company leveraged prior in-house AWS experience from a 2017 cloud program that had migrated around 30 applications and provided ongoing BAU support. Governance and rollout were enforced through committees chaired by project decision-makers, requiring each business unit to justify deviations from SAP standard before approval. oXya, a Hitachi Group company, provided SAP architecture advice during design, built the AWS-hosted landscape in accordance with security rules, and transitioned into long-term managed services. The program executed a big bang go-live in January 2023, following an April 2020 start. Reported outcomes included better IS performance for business units and reframing a technical requirement into a business opportunity by standardizing processes and introducing new SAP functional capabilities within the ERP Financial environment.

SAP Legacy SAP Solution Manager (ex SolMan) Application Lifecycle Management ITSM oXya, a Hitachi Group company. 2021 2021
In 2021, NaTran (ex GRTgaz) implemented SAP Solution Manager (ex SolMan) as its Application Lifecycle Management platform. SAP Solution Manager was deployed into the S/4HANA on AWS landscape as part of the broader SAP program executed with implementation partner oXya, a Hitachi Group company, and installed on the customer AWS landing zone in alignment with GRTgaz architecture and security rules. The deployment incorporated infrastructure as code patterns to enable rapid provisioning of environments and disaster recovery readiness, and installation activities were performed in accordance with the security constraints defined by GRTgaz. SAP Solution Manager was configured to deliver core Application Lifecycle Management functions including system monitoring, change control, transport management, test management and incident management to support the S/4HANA footprint. The Solution Manager instance was used to manage functional areas implemented in the program, specifically extended warehouse management eWM and quality management QM, and it was connected to the SAP SaaS finance capabilities SAC Planning and AFC to provide centralized lifecycle governance across on-premises and SaaS components. Change control workflows in Solution Manager governed a greenfield return to SAP standard for most processes while accommodating a brownfield migration approach for the CMMS that retained required customizations. The implementation integrated Solution Manager with key SAP landscape components recorded in the program, including SAPRouter, WebDispatcher, Content Server, GRC and SAP BTP, to centralize monitoring, transport orchestration and configuration management. Integration and security patterns addressed SSL certificate management via AWS Certificate Manager and API exposure requirements, with the S/4HANA backend connected through an Apigee layer using AWS API Gateway for external interfaces. oXya was responsible for building and installing the SAP systems and configuring Solution Manager within the AWS landing zone, ensuring operational alignment with GRTgaz in-house cloud operations and ongoing managed services. Project governance established committees chaired by project decision-makers, requiring each business unit to demonstrate the relevance of deviations from SAP standard prior to approval, and Solution Manager was used to enforce those governance, change control and release procedures. The program delivered better IS performance for business units, and the broader S/4HANA landscape reached production with a big bang go-live in January 2023 after the multi-year program initiated in April 2020.
